"What the hell?"

 

Creus loosens his effect a little more, before letting Sapphire learn to breathe on her own, Creus' strength acting as a safety net.


Seems like Rineth was slightly too late to warn the air guardians, as many of them begin to faint.

 

"Don't mind me."
The thing comments.
"Just taking some samples."

 

"Like?"

 

The safety net is used a lot.
"So much energy... is... is this why things sleep?" Sapphire asks, dizzy.


Rineth sighs.
"Emerald will be here shortly. She's working with the logistic side of things."

 

The thing takes a bag out from somewhere, then picks up a coin and flips it into tha air.
The thing changes form mid-cast, however, and this completely sends the coin sideways.
"Shit. You get the point."
They say.

 

"Don't breathe too fast, now, you'll obviously find yourself out of breath. Just calmly breathe in...and out." The scientist says.

Creus regulates Sapphire's breathing, keeping her at a calm rate for lying down.


The group gets off Rineth, the fainted air guardians picked up by their peers, waiting beside him for Emerald to come.

 

"Yay?"

 

"I-I think I'm tired... C-cerise, hon, c-can you..."
She's asleep. For how long is anyone's guess.


Emerald is there in a minute, fixing her namesake gemstone on the Air guardian's foreheads before signalling to a set of bunks.
"See you tomorrow. Travel rings on the beds, library's open if you want." She rattles off before leaving.

 

The thing proceeds to ignore you, and

Looks around for anything that might be of value that's not a gold coin.

 

"Thirteen, what i-" Cecil sees you on your knees. "Never mind."

 

The scientists sigh, the Shadow scientist appearing beside the pair.

"We should keep her here, just in case something happens." Joanne says.

"Maybe her new knowledge will get her to breathe whilst asleep." The scientist says, checking Sapphire to make sure she's still breathing.


Most of the guardians head into their rooms to get set up, however a few head into the library to find some literature to read.

 

"What?"
He says, loud enough for you to hear.

 

Ihra's staff is pretty damn valuable...

Sapphire is barely breathing, most of it probably the shadow's work.


Those who stay to set up notice dozens of chimera scurry by, two stopping and sniffing towards their bunks.

 

"I SAID NEVER MIND! JUST DON'T MIND THE FLOATING ORB THAT CAME OUT OF CRYSTAL!"

 

The scientist turns on the autobreather for safety, before the Shadow scientist picks Sapphire up and carries her out of the room, Joanne and the other scientist following. Sapphire is carried further into the lab, before the Shadow takes a right and heads into a bedroom of sorts, laying Sapphire down in the simple metal-framed bed. The mattress is cushioned, and duvet coloured with pretty patterns. A soft blue glow emanates from the edges of the floor, not enough to make sleeping hard, but enough to slightly see through the darkness of the room as the Shadow scientist closes the metal door behind him.


One of the water guardians jumps back, holding his trident out toward the Chimera before lowering it, the scare passing.

 

The thing floats over to the staff, and tries picking it up.

I immediately start looking around for the "floating orb".
"I'm only just an orb once in about 10,000 times, alright!"
The thing shouts at you.

 

-Hours later-
Sapphire slowly stirs, turning to her side.
"Ungh... so soft... what... who took me..." She groans.


It jumps back as well, before nervously going on its way.

The staff is extremely heavy, but is *barely* carryable.

 

The thing tries to stick the staff into the bag, and it fits. They just have some trouble sticking the staff in the bag.

 

The room retains its soft blue glow, enough for Sapphire to make out her bed, pillow and duvet. A slight red glow comes from a pad at the door, presumably meant to open it.
