Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Hmm, I could see them being tied to those. I could only assume Lefalya was tied to Wrath. Were there any others? Say, a total of seven?" Artemis asks.

A small, green forest spirit floats down from Artemis' tree. Artemis doesn't seem to notice it.

 

"Anger would make sense... There are only five, but we have past incarnations of our aspect. We have most of our predecessors' memories, Ihra's group included... They're separate, though."

 

"Hmm, interesting. So why did you turn and choose to work with Ihra, instead of staying with them?" Artemis asks sweetly.

The forest spirit floats to the ground; a blue flower grows where it touched the ground, lifting it up again.

 

"Mistress and the others were corrupted by... something. I put myself into stasis the moment I saw mistress act strangely, then teleported out of the Void as fast as I could after I knew what had happened. I've spent most of my time since running."

 

"So you weren't always bad? I guess I could expect that considering Aj..." Artemis stops for a moment and looks at my Shadow Crystal mournfully, "What do you think corrupted them?"

The forest spirit begins to float over to Artemis, leaving a trail of grass in its wake.

 

"I don't know... stasis shut off my biological senses... their auras screamed that something was off. I have no idea what happened because of it... and now I... I'm such a bad leader... I couldn't save A SINGLE ONE OF THEM!" She wails, dropping to her knees.

 

Artemis looks at my Shadow Crystal suspiciously, before saying in a soothing tone, "It's not your fault, you couldn't have stopped whatever had corrupted them. You did what you could to save yourself, I'm sure we can save them too."

Artemis' words are like fine silk, they seem to be oddly calming.

The forest spirit floats up to Artemis' shoulder; she glances at it, then lets it sit there. It seems to whisper something, Artemis nods.

 

She looks at you with a glimmer of hope in her eye. She's desperately trying to get hersef back together.
"At least y-you don't... think I'm insane... for hoping I can... r-reverse it." She mutters between tears.

 

The forest spirit floats over, it looks like it wants to help. It looks a little distraught at Xephyr's tears.

"I'm sure we can save your friends; wanting to help them doesn't make you insane," Artemis says with her silken tone, "Maybe Aj and I could work together to find out what the problem is, then work towards fixing it." She says, looking at my Shadow Crystal. It pulses darkness.

"Had he not killed him." Artemis says sharply.

 

Xephyr takes another minute to collect herself before getting back on her feet and bowing to Artemis.
"It's a memory I hate to relive, but thank you... Few listen."

 

"We all have memories we don't want to think about..." Artemis says, staring into the distance.

The forest spirit floats by Xephyr, it seems to want something.

 

She looks at the spirit curiously, looking at it, then you.
"Forgive me, I didn't mean to be blunt about this."

 

"It's fine." Artemis says.

The forest spirit begins to sing a notes in a sweet voice. It sings the notes 'D, E, B-A-B' then looks at Xephyr.

Artemis gives the spirit a puzzled look.

 

Lazarus has no idea what to do. I mean, his new acquaintance just died apparently. He decides to evacuate.

 

"Mind me asking what that's doing?" She eyes the spirit nervously.

You're jolted awake.
"You look like you got hit with a meteor. Bad dream?"

 

"It seems to think you can awaken something." Artemis says, confused.

The forest spirit floats over to Artemis, and rests on my Shadow Crystal. It sings the notes again.

 

"I... I don't know." She looks shaken, like she's just had a bad dream.

 

The forest spirit seems disappointed, it floats away back into the tree.

"Are you alright?" Artemis says with a concerned tone.

 

"Yes, it's just... That crystal reminds me of the fate of a friend."
She pauses.
"Awaken what?"

 

"Uhm, no. Just didn't sleep well." Lazarus is obviously lying.
