Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Shut up!" Cecil says back to the echoing voice.

She's going to pyroblast the hell out of the nearest draconian. And if that doesn't work out (as usual), she's going to awkwardly swing one of her swords at him/her.

 

Alone, and with no darkness to quick-travel, you're faced with what's clearly an ambush force, a dozen spirits rushing at you with different weapons, all of them with glowing eyes.

On the outside of the field, a mechanical hound-like beast roars as it breaks towards the shield.

A flank force rushes the shield from behind. The grand entrance is a three way intersection; probably not the best place to try and hold out initially.

The fire pisses them off, and they parry your attack before becoming wide-eyed and falling back as the shield from Stephanie goes up.

 

I smile, before spinning around, the speed of which allowing me to glide in midair as I jump toward the spirits.

"Aeris, nows your time." Tirra says from within her boulder.

Aeris tries to focus, spreading her wings out. The feathers of her wings ruffle together, conducting electricity before Aeris puts her hands together and points at the mechanical bear with both index fingers. Her wings channel electricity as bolts of it fire from her fingers into the mechanical bear, shocking it and overloading it.

Stephanie places a large mage crystal in the centre of the shield and prays.

"Shit, we might be late. C'mon, no more time for showing off!"
I say to Iruk, getting to and flying through the portal quickly.

Crystal gingerly checks the portal before stepping through after me.

 

The electricity... just... electrifies it. Sparks can be seen flying up strings of sorts as the now-electrified hound begins to charge the shield.

The spirits seem prepared, a few firing arrows precisely where you're going to be with forest guardian-esque accuracy.

Iruk dives through, and you find an unconscious Ihra laying outside a chaotic palace.

 

I start looking around more, and Crystal sits down to Ihra's level, poking her and asking,
"Ihra?"

 

Aeris' eyes widen in fear as she falls backward, unable to do much.

I try to deflect the arrows back at the spirits with my spins as I slice and dice the spirits.

Stephanie continues to pray, the dark aura around her growing.

 

She's breathing, and her horns are glowing, but she's stiff.


There are timid creatures observing the chaos outside the palace, some just frozen in fear. Inside, there's just chaos.

Two killed, the rest figured out your tactic. Your momentum is slowed by a parried attack.

The hound crashes into the shield, full force, as a loud *thud* reverberates throughout the palace. It begins to back up for another charge.

 

"Who the hell makes mechanical bears?"

And Cecil is going to summon a bear outside the shield in order to divert the mechanical beast's attention.

 

"Crystal, do you think you can stick with Ihra, make sure nothing bad happens?"
I start taking a commanding position.
"Well, maybe..."
"Then call us over if you don't think you can handle it."
"Okay."
Crystal finishes as I walk hurried, looking for a familiar face.

 

The shield weakens, before exploding outward. A gigantic, horrific terror grows from where the shield once protected, the group within dispersing. The monsters horrific appeareance striking fear into the hearts of even the bravest warriors, it's demented chatters and twisted noises turning the sane to irrepairable insane. With a sweep of it's thorny tentacle, it wipes out the attacking spiritual draconians, as well as I in the process.

Most of the group retreats, leaving the horrific monster to foot the battle.

 

(OOC: Well you just made my action null and void)

 

Considering what comes out of the shield, it's best to just run. Besides, you think you're deaf now.

The familiar faces come outside...

Sounds like most of the draconians retreat, until ground-shaking footsteps draw closer.
"Visitors? How rude..." Xlentia growls.

 

(OOC: Oh great. Traded a disability for another.)

Cecil books it with the rest of the group.

 

I start towards them, beckoning Iruk and preparing for what's to come.

 

The monster smashes the mechanical bear to pieces, before a hardly conscious Stephanie falls from the middle of it as it disappears. I get up, weakened but not out of the battle, and catch Stephanie.

Abigail and Ignia grab some explosives before taking off. Myria and Mortimer split up, looking for the nullifying draconians restricting their magic, using everything they can to find them.

 

The death guardians find that the hallway straight across from the entry is completely unguarded, whereas the ones on the left and right are about equally fortified. However, telepathy seems to be nulled beyond the entryway.

Xlentia wanders behind enemy lines, carefree.
"Knock next time." She calls.

The fire guardians can opt to go left, right, or straight.

Iruk swoops in, staying close.
"Damn..."

Thirteen, Iruk, and Crystal seem to have joined the party.

 

"Here we go. Now's the time to shine, Iruk."
I continue advancing, and preparing.

 

"Where you've been?"

 

Abigail and Ignia go left and right, dropping fireballs as they fly that create bright distractions and set heated fires.

Myria and Mortimer look for the life signals of the nullifying draconians. Myria takes the right, while Mortimer heads straight. The pair slice through whomever stands in their way.
