Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

More screams as a wall of barriers are thrown up in the doorway, bolts of varying magic flying out towards the group.

 

I stop spinning and try my best to deflect as much magic as I can, moving incredibly fast.

Artemis looks around for any alternate doorways, or life signs of people coming from an alternate entrance to attack.

 

Is there one coming towards Cecil?

 

A few bystanding creatures outside the palace peek at the commotion, most fleeing.

You deflect most, but a few hit Terra's earthen ball, one disorienting Katie slightly.

You're safe for now, except for a fire bolt heading towards you.

 

The earthen ball regenerates most of it's damage, at least, it appears to from the outside. Katie tries to block any shots headed her way after shaking the disorientation off.

Artemis tries to commune with the creatures, turning them to her side to attack.

 

Cecil is going to try to dodge the fire bolt. If that doesn't work out, then she summons a mole to take the blow. (OOC: Moles are ugly. No one will miss it)

 

They speak the common language, but all of them are too terrified to speak coherently.

The mass of magic bolts slowly slow down, but the barriers remain.
Better break through soon.

Now, the barriers ahead are strong and you accidentally cover Ihra in charred mole blood, laying on the ground unconscious.

Artemis gives up trying to turn them to her side, instead drawing her bow and looking for the source of the barrier.

I run up to the barrier and start repeatingly stabbing it like a psychotic murderer let out from a insane asylum.

 

The barrier is sourced from the inside.

The barriers weaken, but don't fail. You'll need something charged.

 

"Sorry Ihra!" Is the blades 'charged?'

 

Artemis looks for any holes in the barrier she could shoot through.

"Stephanie, why don't we practise our attack on Xlentia?" I ask, walking over to Stephanie.

"Gh'aurka." Stephanie nods. The pair of us join hands, focusing power before releasing a concentrated blast of energy at the barrier.

 

Ihra doesn't respond, her horns glowing oddly.

The blades tug at your soul, but are not yet charged.

The barriers fail, a rush of draconians and a cloud of sleeping breath jetting out.

Not much time to fall back.

 

Does Cecil's blindfold can cover the sleeping breath?

 

If you put it over your nose and mouth, you'll find out soon enough...

 

Ok. She puts over the blindfold over her nose and mouth.

 

Victus, Mortimer and Myria quickly jab everyone with arrows, causing them to feel a lot more awake.

I resume my spinning procedure, tearing through the draconians like a blender tears through soft fruit. Abigail and Myria team up to release a massive jet of precise flame through the bulk of the draconians, while Katie and Aqui take the sides, forking anyone left.

 

That combined with being jabbed shocks you awake.

"S-lf-r-." Something echoes in your head.

Seems like the Hive assault to prison break Rineth. You kill the first group, but the rest retreat as spectral draconians simply rush past you at the others.

Some halls are barricaded with odd barriers, and you can see flecks of light in the distance, glimmering off weapons.

The fire doesn't seem to do much other than leave molten rock on the floor, the floor releasing deafening screeches as creatures rise from it, quickly dying.

 

Stephanie quickly throws down mage crystals around the group, creating a temporary, yet strong, shield; keeping everyone out, but at the same time, every ally in.

Having been kept out of the shield, I defend it, switching reality panes as I fight, both to disappear and re-appear and attack those incorporeal on the main plane of reality.
