Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I watch Rineth fly off, then turn to Xephyr.
"Hey, Xephyr, nice to see you here!
Wait, you said Eras was here?"
I say, remembering that I got over here to see Eras, for Luphyx.

 

Damn this rp is long.

 

OOC: Understatement of the month award goes to....

 

"So... are we going to try again?" Lazarus is eager to test this out.

 

"Yeah, he was, at least... On the same side note, good to see you in one piece as well."

"Up to you. It might be hard, but maybe try pushing yourself up with one of your... uh... front feet, then kick out the other?"

 

Artemis lets out a heavy sigh.

She seems rather bored, and glances lazily where Rineth and Ihra went.

 

Riihs looks at you intently, putting away his lance and halberd.
"She looks up to you, I hope you realize that. Her way of trying to make things up to people is strange at best, but don't worry too much about her."

He seems suspicious of Xephyr, but they both keep a distance between themselves.
"Your daughter has what the prophecy needs, she's definitely got the energy."
"Heh, I just hope she breaks it enough to live after this all ends. She's seen too much hell to deserve wading through it for naught."
"I have to agree."
"Did you not turn?"
"I evaded the attack. The others I couldn't help, but I fled. I turned to one of the gods of this world to stand as my new master."
"Xephyr, you're strong enough to-"
"All due respect, it's the only life I've ever known."
Riihs sighs, then nods.

 

"I feel the need to protect her," Artemis says with a slight sadness, "That is, until her fate is met."

Artemis looks at my Shadow Stone, thinking about what Kyrae said.

 

"You know, there is a happy ending for her... One where her body dies but soul lives on. I've seen it, but I dared not speak of it... until now. I've never heard such genuine words come from someone we hardly know."

Xephyr looks cross.
"It would be suicide."
"It would be her only chance."

 

Artemis looks slightly hopeful.

"Apparently I'm the one who'll remember her, and I'm key in 'continuing her story'. I just hope I'll know how when the time comes." Artemis says in a lighter tone.

 

"Well, I did find the egg in the middle of a desert... Doesn't seem like the place its parents would naturally be waiting for it."

 

OOC: DID EVERYONE JUST FORGET THE DRAKONSHADE WHICH HOVERED OVER IHRA?!

While the fight was going on, the Drakonshade got knocked to the ground, unconscious.
Now it begins to wake up.
It looks towards the group and screeches loudly.

 

"We're all entitled to our own doubts. Still, I wish you the best."
He bows.

"Hold on... You found an egg for an ICE dragon in the MIDDLE OF A DESERT?" Tirai looks dumbstruck.
"How exactly does that happen?"

It was implied it was caught in one of many blasts.

Xephyr turns to it.
"Well, back to this problem."
A cold aura balls up in her hand.

 

I surround myself with a dark aura.
"Seeing as it was about to attack Ihra and didn't obey my commands, something is definitely wrong. Why wouldn't it obey me though..."
The Drakonshade flies vertically into the air, but then turns around and starts spiralling towards us, eyes fixed on Artemis.
I fire a dark orb at it and hover off the ground slightly.

 

Xephyr freezes it in place, letting your dark orb hit.
"Nyre or the problem from the Lost Kingdom are my guesses." She mutters.

 

"Possibly... but they live around the Void Palace. There would have to be lots of activity around the Void. And by that, I mean at LEAST something taking several trips back and forth through the Void, and staying there for a while. And even then, it would have to have a reason it wanted to come into this world. So pretty much impossible."
The dark orb explodes on contact with the Drakonshade.
The Drakonshade shakes off any remaining shards of ice off its body and turns towards me.
"Oh yes, and one thing. Don't let any of its darkness touch you."
I then quickly fly out of the way and let the Drakonshade land. It immediately turns back in the same direction as I was and claws at it.
Maybe Drakonshades don't have eyes?

 

"In the tome's presence, darkness shouldn't affect me."
Xephyr steps back cautiously.

 

"Eh, as far as I know, it has something to do with rifts opening up into other worlds." I break off a branch from a tree, giving it to the baby dragon so it doesn't collapse the tree. "Oh, and don't ask me how I know about them either."

 

"It won't affect you... but it will be able to sense you more than it is able to now. A lot more."
The Drakonshade settles down, annoyed...
...and then disintegrates?
A cloud of darkness quickly spreads.
"But... that's even more impossible than a Drakonshade leaving the Void Palace..."
I quickly fly higher into the air, but even for me it's too late.
Everywhere is plunged into darkness by the clouds of... dust? Dust doesn't tickle throats that much...
When the 'dust' clears, a bright light is shining from above us. There is a golden... is that the Drakonshade? creature hovering above us.
Its gold eyes seem to lock on to me, then shift to Xephyr, then shifting through everyone else in the group.
Then it looks back at me.... and flies away?

 

"What exactly just... Eras? Is that... supposed to happen?"

"I... won't. I suppose we're known in places we don't know ourselves..."
The hatchling tries to walk down the branch, falling.
Tirai snickers.
