Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Xephyr flinches, but doesn't wake.
"She's getting warm... please help her..." Avis whines, spitting ice on Xephyr's arm.

 

Katie spins her trident above her, and a small snow cloud forms over her, Xephyr and Avis. Katie takes some water from the ocean and covers Xephyr's body, freezing it to create an icy suit.

 

Avis keeps trying to help.
"Thank you, miss. Um... do you know this mister?" Avis asks, shifting into you for a second.
"He knocked out mom."

 

"Aj? Why would he knock out Xephyr?" Katie asks. Katie holds out her palm, and two small icy figures form on it. One resembles Xephyr, while the other myself. My ice self quickly delivers a painful looking hook, and icy teeth fly from the ice Xephyr before she falls down, knocked out.

 

"I don't know. He just came out of mama and mama fell over."

 

"Oh, I guess he possessed her...but why would he need to possess Xephyr if...hmm...I think he was trying to get to you through your mother." Katie says, thinking things through.

 

"Did I do something wrong?"

 

"Maybe it's not what you've done, but what you will do." Katie theorizes.

 

"What will I do wrong?" Avis asks, confused.

 

"Well, you can shape shift. Shape shifters are especially dangerous as they can mimic people of power and get away with it. I think he just wants you out of trouble." Katie explains, pouring another bucketful of cold water on Xephyr.

 

Xephyr is, again, startled but not stirred.
"Why didn't he just tell me?" Avis asks.

 

"Aj's a stealthy character. He wouldn't reveal his plans because they could be sabotaged." Katie says, slightly frustrated. A pair of ice hands start shaking Xephyr as Katie pours an especially cold and especially large bucketful of icy water over Xephyr.

 

"But if he told me, then I wouldn't. He didn't have to hurt mama to tell me, I think..."

Xephyr gives the same reaction.

 

"He wanted to make sure you wouldn't. If he hurts someone you love and tells you not to do something, then it has more weight." Katie says, slapping Xephyr across the face in frustration.

 

Avis just stands there, processing her words.

Xephyr lets out a grunt, starting to rouse.

 

Katie slaps her again for effect, though slighly lighter.

 

Xephyr moans, slowly opening her eyes.
Avis darts up next to her, hopeful.

 

Katie sits back, sighing, before letting out a scream. One of the sand creatures from before seems to have formed and grabbed her hand. Katie struggles to get her hand free from its sandy grasp.

 

Avis spits ice at the creature as Xephyr slowly sits up, coughing.

 

Katie stabs the sand creature with her trident, piercing...something, killing it.

"Are you ok, Xephyr?" Katie asks, looking back at Xephyr.
