"Just say the name that comes across your mind."

 

"Buddy?"
Crystal questions.

 

"That's a good name." Cecil said in a surprised tone.

 

"Is it? Then Buddy he is, I guess!"

 

"You better protect him!"

 

Crystal seems surprised, and forms a thick wall of earth between you and Buddy.
"Why?! What are you going to do to him?"
Crystal seems more worried and surprised than threatening.

 

I shrug, "Just don't let her do that. The concept of having an advanced shapeshifter like that around is bad enough." I say, a mild tone of annoyance in my voice.

 

"I didn't see that coming..." She whispered to herself.

"Nothing! I swear!" Yelling at Crystal.

 

"Oh. Okay."
Crystal says, the wall of earth sinking behind him.
"Sorry, it's just that... I dunno, it sounded like a threat."

 

"It's fine. There's more threatening people other than me."

 

"Yeah. I mean, I don't want Buddy to get hurt. I'll protect him."
Crystal says happily.

 

"Good."

Buddy wakes up and stares at Crystal.

 

Crystal notices Buddy waking up.
"Hi!"

 

Buddy looks at Crystal, then yawns.

 

"Still tired?"
Crystal asks Buddy, sitting down.

 

His head falls down on Crystal's leg.

 

Lovingly, Crystal strokes and scratches Buddy's head.

 

(OOC: Buddy is a golden retriever)

Buddy licks Crystal's hand.

 

Crystal morphs to have a third hand, so he scratches the side of Buddy, the side of his mouth, and behind his ear.
Because why not.

 

"What the hell?" Cecil looks at all three of Crystal's hands.

Buddy stares at his third hand.
