Though, as long as I'm not behind the fragment murder, I'm happy I guess.
Yes I still feel bad about killing Vei.

 

There's 4 arcs and an afterstory.

You guys have milked the hell out of arc 2.

 

Yay! We're only halfway there!
Never let the fun end.

 

When it ends, if I have time, I may go through with the Void Rift Arena idea.
The same classmate helped me think it through a bit more. I figured it'd help me get to know some of the lesser-used characters better.

And, of course, there's always a possibility of a rerun.

It's been a while since I put something like this up.

Spoiler: The Midnight Dawn

Something was moving. One misstep, and my would-be assassin flees, knowing he wasted his chance.
I figured now wasn't too bad a time to wake up. The sun was rising, the air was a pleasant temperature. Maybe I'd go for a walk.

I step outside, the horizon pink. It's a phenomena, though trivial, I've never seen before. I couldn't help but to wonder, why doesn't it burn out? What's fueling it?

That day, I learned who.


It is said that the day I woke to see the sunrise, the sun had devoured the moon.
Their cries, all released, their worries extinguished; but I knew.
Two streaks of grey light fell to our world. One fell in front of me, the other one rumored to become my sister.

They split into two, settling into the form of a rapier and a broadsword. Blessed with these weapons, I created sheathes for them myself and took them as my responsibility. Surely they must have some meaning, some purpose?

...

It has since been four generations our world has seen a sunrise.

 

Another thing within 24 hours? What's gotten into me?
I have no idea. There's plenty more mysteries for me to watch you try to piece together.
Just try not to mix up the puzzles, else you'll find paradoxes that aren't there.
Not that I'm denying the existence of one or two...

Spoiler: Sarin

"LET THE RITE OF COLLABORATION... BEGIN!" A voice booms.

Three teams of five charge each other. They all know their chances of survival lie on trusting the four other strangers on their team.

The battle starts off slow, energy being thrown at range. Every approach is slow; no rules are in place, save one: the winner is the last team to stand.

Two Terra draconians charge each other, butting heads. An Aquos captures them both in a prison of water, and a Volt finishes them off.
Two charred corpses lie motionless, colors draining from their soulcores.

A Vulcan turns the Aquos to stone, just as a Mecha charges through it. The Volt takes another kill before having his soul torn from his body.

The center of the field is a mess, and those still alive back off. Their recklessness got their comrades killed. Any more mistakes and they too would fall like them.


"IF THERE IS NO CLEAR VICTOR, REMEMBER THAT THERE ARE NO DRAWS!" The voice booms again.
The walls close in. The youth give up their worries and all run in the center.
All but one.

Ihra clings to the wall, terrified. She had never seen so much bloodshed. Of all the Rites youth were supposed to go through, this was the only one Vei couldn't get her out of.

"Ihra... I'm sorry. I did everything I could... Please don't die. I need you." Vei's words echoed in her mind.

Her team had two other members left. They were outnumbered. She knew she had to go in. Yet, there was still a Pyro.

One that saw her.
Fleeing from a crashing wave of flames, she darted around the arena faster than she knew she could; adrenaline, no doubt.

A stray thunderbolt, a spectral lance, a sphere of paralyzing water. Any of these, and she would meet her fate.

The center of the field thinned out. Both of her team members remained.
"Sage! Help!" A young Chrono cried, a Mecha's claws rending her.

Ihra gave in to her instinct. A glob of acid ended the Mecha, and a quick heal allowed the Chrono to make a hasty retreat.

Her other teammate, a Vulcan, was frozen solid and shattered. They had taken a blow for her.


It was down to her, her friend, and one more team of two; a Cryo and a Vulcan. Their intentions were clear; torch Ihra, then take out the Chrono.
A wall of ice, a plume of lava, all slowed to a halt.
"Allow me to repay you, Sage."
The Chrono bent time. Acid and claws quickly ended their opposition, and the two were released from the arena.

"THE SURVIVORS OF TODAY'S RITE OF COLLABORATION ARE IHRA AND SARIN!" The voice echoes a final time, just before the exits are opened.

"Sarin, huh? That's a nice name."
"Thanks, Ihra. For that and saving me."
"No problem... it's what I was made to do, wasn't it?"
"I suppose... heh."
The pair walk out together, meeting a relieved Vei outside.


Sarin laughs nervously. She knows.

 

Ok, I'm now fully back. Time to make things interesting...

Since you are reading this page, I assume one of the following has happened:

- I have gone into hiding. If you know where I have gone, don't try to find me.
I was given a riddled 'prophecy' by... I guess you will find out if you succeed. I have attached it to these pages. Nobody can read these pages except me, because this is my tome, and you, because the one who told me the prophecy said you should read it. However, I also blocked the page from your eyes until one of the circumstances above happened.
So if you suddenly found the page and think that none of the above have happened, then one of them has. Likely death. I hope that neither of the others have happened.
But anyway, the riddle:

"Three may fall to the Time of Doom,
One, the Master of Darkness.

... Funny, I was just reading Ender's Game before I saw this.

In case you don't know, Ender's Game has these kind of battles where two armies of 41 people are pitted against each other O.o

 

Never read it. Interesting. May have to sometime.

 

41 has always been my least-favorite sub-100 prime number.

But maybe I'm just weird like that.

 

I should mention, the name game is something played heavily with throughout this.

The names of almost every character is likely relevant in some way, shape, or form.

Hint: Backwards minus four.
(If you solve this and make the connection, then congratulations, you've scared the living hell out of me. Also, in case you're wondering, you really shouldn't be able to solve it with the connections, albeit it's deeper than it looks)

Just remembered something...
You that Fragments have those abilities? The ones which are extremely powerful (e.g. Vei has Apocalypse).
My major characters have 'Ultimates'. Not sure what to name them yet though.

Eras - Spell of Creation Rebirth: Remember that Eras used the spell to make the spell which creates monsters come to life? That was this.

Idala - Soul Oblivion: Idala completely destroys a soul which she chooses. However, there is quite a big downside to this ability. To use it, she has to destroy a soul which she has control of. So basically, she either destroys her own soul or her reflection at random.

Hythania - Rune Fusion: Hythania fuses together two magical items. Not powerful, but Hythania isn't really good at combat itself.

Daras - Necroshade: If Daras dies, he can become a sort of ghost infused into someone.

'Arnold' - Deathswitch Field: Arnold has pretty much the only thing which has a name which completely describes the ability. If someone tries to kill him, he summons five 'Orbs of Doom'. These orbs of energy drop to the ground around him, pretty much creating an area of energy radiation. However, he dies if his killer survives this.

I will likely add more of these abilities to planned future characters.

 

I'm just kinda staring at the screen blankly because I have no idea who any of these draconians are.
