don't expect any of these to be good/balanced, i'm just gonna be making a big thread of stuff i think would be cool that i'll update occasionally. zero thought goes into these besides the base idea, but i am interested in genuine feedback if anyone cares

Teleport is rarely used in combat due to its relative awkwardness- every other movement spell is not instant, and thus grants you some degree of control before you land. Thus, they generally feel rather smooth, and can be easily weaved into combat scenarios. Teleport is the exception, and while it has 4 different upgrades to benefit its offensive potential, it never achieves the same usability as Charge, Dash, Escape or Haul. A rather simple change to benefit this would be to alter Blink, turning it into a move combat focused node as well as keeping its original purpose- holding shift while casting it would teleport you once forward, then once back, triggering effects such as Air Slash, Eye Piercer, and Explosive Entrance without pushing you to a completely different position, allowing a more offensive, frantic playstyle for Riftwalker, constantly teleporting through enemies and stacking Winded without giving them a chance to react.
    upload_2023-10-17_18-42-26.png
Apocalypse has never been highly valued, due to its unfortunately low combat potential, and it is seeing even less use since 2.0 due to the archetype system. It seems it would fit into Fallen's playstyle perfectly thanks to its slow, high damage attacks, but its one claim to fame of huge lifesteal is rendered useless when corrupted, making it far less useful for the archetype, leaving it as a niche choice for offensive Paladins- of which, most would prefer positive HPR for sustain as opposed to lifesteal anyway. My proposed solution is giving it a Major ID to make it an ideal weapon for Fallens looking to tank or branch into Paladin- giving it the ability to heal via lifesteal even while corrupted. Its slow speed will leave it less powerful than a faster, more offensive weapon, in exchange for granting life sustain whilst also allowing Corruption to be built, synergizing well with the Massacre ability. This change would incentivize players to charge into the fight to stay alive and grow stronger, whereas staying far from the action would slowly kill you- presumably the weapon's original purpose when it was first added.

Poison has recently been changed, so it seems the perfect time to speak my unwarranted opinion. As it currently stands, poison is now a status effect, and is thus no longer affected by Strength and Dexterity- I suggest an overhaul to status effects entirely, to not only allow pure poison builds, but to have more supplementary effects. Poison would once again become affected by Earth damage, whereas other elemental damages would gain their own status effects, similar to poison though unique in their utility.

    Earth: Poison
Poison would exist as the main damage dealing effect, boasting the highest DPS by itself, yet having no other characteristics to define itself. It is essentially how poison functions in game currently, with the addition of Earth damage % affecting it and boosting its damage, as it would be dealt as Earth damage.

    Thunder: Electric Shock
Electric Shock would deal moderate damage on its own, but has the shortest duration, ticking once every 0.5 seconds, and only applying for 0.5 seconds per hit. However, it is a stacking debuff, allowing its duration to be increased if continuous hits are applied, similar to how Discombobulate works- the more you apply it in a faster amount of time, the longer it will last, up to 15 seconds, perhaps allowing these more glassy builds to step back and drink a healing potion or cast spells while still having a somewhat consistent damage dealer, even if minimal. Affected by Thunder damage %.

    Water: Pressure

Pressure is meant to drown out your enemies' interruptions and keep your spells flowing. Notably, it would be able to be applied through spellcasting as well as melee, but would not reach the same heights as the other debuffs. While dealing little damage alone, it makes up for this by reducing the damage of enemies, between 2% and 5% (balance is not my strong suit), stacking additively with Weaken Enemy %. Consider it more of a side tool for spellspam builds to have in their back pocket for more survivability, as well as allowing them to branch into poison without using melee. Affected by Water damage %.

    Fire: Burn
Burn already exists in game thanks to Paladin's Flaming Uppercut- though it is hardly fully utilized through this one ability. Burn would deal damage based on your DPS, exclusively as Fire damage, additively being boosted by Fire damage %. Additionally, while enemies are burning, their defense would be lowered by a small amount, from 2% to 5% (same as before, idk balance). It can act supportively to your allies if playing defensively, allowing them to take care of threats more easily; while if you are playing more offensively with high damage and damage bonuses, its DPS based damage could further boost your melee attacks.

    Air: Suffocation
Dealing the least raw damage, this is meant to function as a supportive tool rather than a damage dealer. Suffocation is applied for 5 seconds on hit, dealing relatively low damage per tick, but slowing down the enemies it is applied to, making it safer to get close, and easier to get away. The powder special Dodge would work wonderfully in tandem with this debuff, keeping enemies from getting too close as your Air damage % builds up, increasing the damage of Suffocation as well as your main attacks. Don't expect to make entire builds around it, or else you'll find yourself severely lacking in comparison to poison.
Housing is cool. Ever since the recent update, they've been better than ever with cheaper prices and more content. However, it could be better in 3 ways, in order from least to most absurd.

    1. Refunds
Exactly what it says on the tin. If you've purchased too many blocks, I suggest being able to refund them for half the cost. Blocks would give only tier 1 materials to prevent cheesing, while special merchants and furniture would simply give half the emeralds.

    2. More Locations
There are a significant of places that could really use the addition of a balloon for the sake of convenience, as well as some places that feel scenic enough to warrant the ability to place your house there. The current system requires seeking out a balloon at wherever you wish to place your house- instead of this, for balancing purposes, I believe the ability to choose multiple locations in close proximity to the nearest balloon to place your house at would be a good compromise (for example, placing your house at the House of Twain from Nesaak). I will split these into two sections, those that would benefit from having access to your house, and those that should not have a balloon but might work as scenery.

    Balloon Locations:
    Rymek
    Ice Nations
    Pirate Cove
    Lusuco/Tower of Ascension
Llevigar (i know one exists i just want it moved to a more convenient position)
    Aldorei
    Thanos/Ozoth's Spire
    Thesead

Scenic Locations, and where to access them:
    Alekin (Detlas)
    Elkurn (Detlas)
    Tempo Town (Detlas)
    Bremminglar (Almuj)
    Ternaves (Almuj)
    Mage Island (Selchar/Ice Nations)
    Bucie/Centerworld Fortress (Llevigar)
    Efilim (Cinfras)
    Lexdale (Cinfras)
    Bantisu Air Temple (Thesead)

    Champion Exclusive Scenic Locations:
    Roots of Corruption (Detlas)
Jungle Lake/Temple of the Legends (Troms)
    Delnar Manor (Troms)
    Galleon's Graveyard (Pirate Cove)
    Faltach Manor/House of Talor (Cinfras)
    The Qira Hive (Thanos)
    Maex/Molten Heights Caverns (Rodoroc)
    The Colossus (Ahmsord)
    Jofash Dock (Ahmsord)
    Eldritch Outlook (Lutho)

    3. Housing Scanner

Have you ever really wanted an infinite supply of potatoes anywhere? How about the ability to purchase Bob's weapons from the comfort of your unexplainably floating home? Introducing the Housing Scanner, the perfect tool for you!
For the low price of 2LE, you would be able to purchase a Housing Scanner from your home- an item you can carry back to the overworld. With this, you could take it to any merchant NPC and copy their inventory to place as a merchant in your home. Give your horse a break for a small fortune, and carry hold every unique merchant hostage right from your couch!
Obviously this would require several exceptions, such as seasonal vendors and perhaps more important NPCs, but otherwise I believe this to be a balanced tool that would save time, scrolls, and soul points.

(I'm unsure where to put this, but can we also get a skill point potion merchant and placeable brewing stands please)
While it could also work as an Ability Tree node, I believe it would fit better as an Archer exclusive Major ID similar to Hawkeye for Nighthawk and Deadeye. This hypothetical ID would set your weapon attack speed to Super Slow regardless of base attack speed or bonuses- when firing an arrow, it would instead shoot however many arrows could have been shot in that time depending on your actual attack speed (ex., Normal would shoot 4 arrows, Super Fast would shoot 8, etc.) in a tight shotgun spread, promoting a burst damage playstyle unique from heavy melee.
The item is related to a very lore significant character, the bonuses it gives are rather large for being a mere unique, and the quest it is acquired from is rather long- and deserving of a more fitting tier of reward! The chestplate should at minimum be buffed to rare, if not legendary or fabled.
Daredevil is a cool item, I really like how the major ID gives more oomf to assassin's double jump. I do not like that it is limited to assassin while archer also has its own double jump ability- I believe it would work well as a multi-class item, similar to how Tachyon works for both archer and mage.
I am not a quest designer, so this will be a very low detail suggestion- TNA is the only raid without an associated quest, and I believe the Silent Expanse could use another quest regardless, something to reduce the amount of grinding necessary to reach 104. A short summary is: more void holes are appearing around the expanse, and they are reaching closer and closer to Lutho. Scouring the area, you are able to find tattered documents from the Order of the Grook, realizing they are no match for the creatures of the expanse- thus leading you to revisit their academy to ask for their aid in magic, providing you can defend them. With their help, you are able to create a temporary barrier to hold greg in the void and stabilize the portal near Lutho for the time being, giving you access to the raid, as well as a fast travel void hole to the Sky Islands Void. Not only would it link the two current endgame areas, but it would also connect every current lootrun camp to be within a minute or two's reach from one another, giving Ahmsord's proximity to the the Molten Heights and Kandon-Beda's Corkus balloon.

I like the idea of refunds, seems balanced and interesting.

Here’s some feedback for each individual housing location:

Alekin: No, it’s a small village.
    Elkurn: Same as above.
Tempo Town: It’s poor, how could they afford a housing balloon before they even have housing?
Bremminglar: Savanna village in a far corner of the wild? I don’t think so.
Rymek: Okay yeah, but maybe you have to pay gold bars to access it :saltroll:
Ternaves: No, not when Almuj and Detlas are right there.
Lusuco: Actually would be quite convenient.
Temple of the Legends (Champion): When Troms is like five steps away?
Roots of Corruption (Champion) Seriously, where would you even put this? Just have a big, bright, happy wool balloon in the literal heart of the corruption??
    Mage Island: Sure.
    Ice Nations: Maybe.
    Pirate Cove: Maaaybe.
Llevigar (i know one exists i just want it moved to a more convenient position): Yes please, Llevigar is so huge and yet the balloon has to be on the beach of all places?
Bucie: Nah, it’s a small town.
    Efilim: Maaaaaaaybe.
Lexdale: Definitely not. Lexdale is sad and dark for a reason.
Thanos / Ozoth's Spire (Champion): Thanos would be nice, yeah.
Thesead: Sure, considering how hard the CotL can be to navigate.
    Bantisu Air Temple: No.
Maex (Underground, compared to Rodoroc's surface): Maybe, I wouldn’t like it but I’m not sure.
Kandon-Beda / The Colossus (Champion): Nah, Ahmsord is right there and by the time you’re doing TCC you’ll be able to fly long enough to quickly travel between there.
Faltach Manor (Champion) / House of Talor (Champion): N-no..?
Lake Gylia (Champion): Where are you even gonna put this? Just slap a colorful balloon onto the lakestone? Hard pass for me.

Generally, no. Housing Balloons are supposed to be like Trade Markets, only appearing in large, developed towns and cities. Having them literally everywhere would be quite the stretch.
However, I would definitely like it if there was a better system to allow more places to put your housing balloon. Instead of just slapping a bunch balloons all around the map, there could be a system like the Seaskipper where you can choose places on the map to have your housing. hobbit village housing when

I like the idea of the Housing Scanner a lot. However, if you have a Housing Scanner, you must add another item called the Housing Scammer that is useless.

    thanks for the feedback
and yea, most of the locations wouldn't really work for a balloon, hence the footnote of setting multiple locations to one balloon. a good chunk of em can be narrowed down haha
originally i had an idea of simply being able to put your house anywhere with some overworld tool to just scan the surrounding area, but methinks it would be more trouble than it's worth, if even possible

Oh sorry, I didn’t see the footnote.

Agreed with the second part, though. I think a new system should be put in place where like any place you’ve visited can be set as your housing background, with a small fee.

I really like the quest idea! I think the only issue is that the Order of the Grook only got so far into the Expanse as to capture the Crawling Death from the Ruined Olmic City, so finding evidence of their presence in Void Valley wouldn’t be lore accurate. However, I really like the concept and I think it has a lot of potential. Would really like to see something like it in the game at some point.
