wow this turned into a pretty big thing huh

honestly i do agree that its not fair to people who really didnt know (doesnt mean its not a dick move but still)
its not like all the other rules that are permanent, its just something thats been added for whenever some big movie rolls around
you wouldnt normally be banned for spoiling any other movie (or at least its not specified in the rules), so its logical to think that you wouldnt be for spoiling infinity war (again not saying its not a dick move that anyone should do regardless)

from what i can tell theres no indication in game whatsoever that mentions the rule is in effect, so no one would think "hey maybe they added a new rule just for two weeks about spoiling infinity war" so you cant blame them for not knowing about it
i mean imagine if they made this a law irl but only announced it via newspaper or smth (ofc it would be a bigger deal irl and everybody would know but just hypothetically) and people were arrested ofc they would be mad and you cant blame them for not knowing the law if it wasnt properly announced and was expressed through a medium that not everyone regularly uses

    so yea jsut my thoughts

Goodness some of the replies here...

A player is likely to have read the rules once and then moved on. If they didn't use the Discord or the forums, there is no reasonable way they could know revealing information about IW is bannable.

What, it was their job to check the rules every day just in case a sneaky change is made without any ingame warning?

I totally get why Infinity War is more important than second rate standalone movies, and even though it has nothing to do wi Wynn, I support that rule. But just like most of the users in this thread, I agree with the fact that the announcement shouldn't have been kept off-game.
