(unofficial) Wynncon 2016 Event Thread

Anyway, on the bright side, we got GRIAN to show up and do some talking! (he said it's exclusive info though, wont be spoiling)

 

As a shopkeeper, will there be another chance to sell? Thx in advance

We don't even know if there will BE a second wynncon.

My speech, in case anyone didn't have time to read it :3

Hey! Some of you might know me from the forums, and as I have the honor of speaking to you today, I'd like to talk about the Wynncraft community from my perspective. Before I continue I'd like to apologize for any grammar errors in advance, since english isn't my native language, and this speech was written in a slight hurry.


The outstanding about this community in my opinion isn't only what it has done for its player, but what it has helped them to do. Even tho guilds were (correctly) criticized a lot, they supported people in the creation of bonds between players which will persist in some way, even if Wynn shouldn't be there anymore someday.


Aside of that, I've always seen the forums as a welcoming place, with acceptance for all kind of people, even going as far as offering personal support for people with real-life problems.


Of course there aren't only positive aspects to Wynncraft. Especially recently there've been complaints about insufficient transparency by the staff. A lot of players lose faith in Wynn because there isn't an update in sight, even tho the team is constantly working on one. Another factor is the promotion/demotion of moderators, as those choices might seem unreasonable for regular users.


That said, those problems can all be easily solved with a little cooperation from both sides, creating no permanent problem if handeled correctly beforehand.


I am aware that the topics adressed in this speech are already known by a large part of today's attendees, but we tend to forget the obvious the most often. I hope you've enjoyed this little speech, and have fun listening to the ones yet to come!
