Guide Unintentional Deletion Of A Class

We have been, and it works 100% of the time for us, it just takes a while...
Like, it can take hours before the class goes away.

 

We do? What is it and when and how do I do it?

 

I'm working on a couple of more classes to see what I get.

I tried it a few times in the past and I'm OK. I think it isn't 100 percent but has a slight chance of occuring.

 

Forgot what the comand specifically is, i think its /class auto or something like that...

 

Two more classes deleted, this evening. I've got three more being tested. As I said originally, I don't know what the probability is, but closing out the "Delete Confirmation" box by using "Escape" is very dangerous. I just close the box with "Escape", then close MC, then go away for an hour or longer. When I come back, the classes that I'm testing are deleted.

I've taken screenshots of the three that I'm testing this time.

 

OK, so far, all three are still there. I tried the "esc" on them again, however, I played one for a while, before closing out. Next update in a couple of hours.

 

Well, @Salted , it took a while, and a second try, but I burned three classes on my alt account, by using "ESC" in the box, instead of hitting the cancel icon.

Also, I lost my level 71 warrior on my main account, because I accidentally opened the delete box, and hit "ESC", instead of hitting the cancel icon, because I was tired. Expensive mistake on my part.

It may take an hour or longer, it many not happen all of the time, but it definitely is triggered by using the "ESC" key in the deletion box.

 

Salted has been looking for the issue all day. I hit him up on Skype, and he will now be recreating this a few times. Too bad it's not an instant bug, but a time consuming one.

 

Wait you guys use escape to exit the inventory?

 

If I'm understanding all of this correctly, the bug works as follows: In the class selection screen, if you right click a class to open up the class deletion confirmation box, hitting escape to exit that confirmation box may cause the class you had right clicked to be deleted after 1 hour.

 

I hope that no one is doing that, but rather, they are using the "E" key.

And that, Slimy, leads me to wonder if some of the random lost inventory may be coming from using the "Esc" key. Spooky thought.

Exactly, Twage. It's not a 100% loss rate, so it's going to take some time to sort it out. However, that is exactly what happens. It may be time-based to loss, but I haven't had time to test anything further. I have to go out at least once every day this week, and with heat indices in the 105F+ range, it takes a toll on me.

 

I think you should need to type a certain message, like CONFIRM or something to delete a class. That way you couldn't accidentally delete anything, like if you are raging at lag and just spam clicking

 

Yes, well the whole typing information to be entered is rather difficult to code and is very glitchy. Exhibit A: Creating the name for a new guild

 

What if the amount of time that must elapse before a character slot is deleted isn't the assumption of one hour, but rather the set time it takes to normally delete a character slot with that amount of progression (i.e. Does it normally take around one hour to delete a Lv. 2/Lv. 3 slot)?

If that isn't the case, and the odd number of one hour is the time required, that could be very dangerous indeed. I've spent (a broken, and therefore much longer) 81 hours on a slot.

No. There is no proof, and this belongs under the "no refund policy" so...
rip your knight
better level up another one - you could do that for the gameplay update (to refamiliarize yourself with the game)

 

Maybe after this guide the wont be anymore of these "Halp meeh admins i deleted my class"

I'm just going to toggle class selection off until this is fixed.
