Just because they have the same name, doesn't mean they're meant to be direct references. That's like if you were in geometry class and the teacher drew a four equilateral triangles formed together to make a larger equilateral triangle and you asked the teacher if he/she liked Legend of Zelda.

 

You have no one to confirm it, if a GM or so confirms that no one will have a problem with it and accept it. Right now there is no proof for either side, so no one is wrong and no one is right. However i think the actual meaning of the words sounds more realistic

There's also the Lv. 74 Unique bow "Lazybones", which might be referencing the dialogue between Sans and Papyrus, though it could also be referring to the Very Slow attack speed the bow has.

I remember how a while ago people posted the same kinds of posts, showing references to Undertale, like the Determination boots. These posts got lots of likes. Now we're all judging one person because he did the same thing. What a damn good community is this, isn't it?

Anyway, if someone can please close this thread (what should've happened a long time ago), that'd be great. The message has been driven home, and now we're all just fighting over a a couple of words someone thought it was a reference, wich he couldn't have known wasn't one.

 

I'm not here to start beef with you or prolong a thread that has been answered, but I feel you have not read the majority of the thread.

I see what is going on here as multiple people working together in a constructive fashion to explain to one person why something they believe exists, does not. Of course there will be people making posts like the 'If posts could give me cancer...' post, but that is to be expected of a situation in which the debate is not closed, and one side has clearly won.

Your insult of the general community for the minor actions of a few people, while several others work to drive home one point, is, to say the least, disappointing.

I also do not see a single thread about UnderTale references ingame, from a committed and active forum member, let alone one by another member, that has likes. Correct me if there is one, but I believe you are lashing out at many people while you should be lashing out at one or two. In fact, I don't know if in this situation it's even appropriate to be having this sub-debate, so I'm just going to report the thread and the post, since that is what moderators would rather have us do.

 

They may or may not be references, but I'm pretty sure that at least one is because it's very unlikely that the names would also randomly match the items associated with the characters in Undertale.

Papyrus (Chestplate) might reference the prominent torso of papyrus (It's prossibly not a reference though)
Sans (Dagger) might reference fighting Sans in genocide with a dagger (Prossibly not)
Determination (Boots) might be a reference but only because of the name (Prossibly not)
Undying (High lvl Spear) might reference genocide's Undyne the Undying and her spears, which are very powerful (Possibly a reference, not guaranteed)

IMO Undying is a reference, but I don't have any hard evidence so I might be wrong. I wouldn't say all of them are intended references though.
