I think that you should be able to trade cosmetics for other types of cosmetics on the market.

    Basic Description

No emeralds for cosmetics, because the black market stuff and the like are meant to be behind a paywall. Using other cosmetics as payment means that the people trading have already gone past the paywall.

The items trading should be within the same tier (Rare, Legendary, etc.), so lets say that you got a Rare Wybel token, but you wanted a Rare Attack Effect. Well, if you wanted to buy that Rare cosmetic, what you could do is go over to the trading NPC's and say that you wanted to buy something. Then, there'd be the usual filter for what type of item you'd want, and you'd select one tier of cosmetics, or you could be able to type up "Rare Attack Effect" using the sign, like with Horses. Then, you'd hit the green check mark and a bunch of Rare Attack Effect cosmetics would pop up for sale.

Then, when selling cosmetics, maybe there can be some variation on how they're sold.

Since they aren't sold for just emeralds, the value is relative. Maybe, if they don't know specifically what they want, someone could put a proposition for their Rare Wybel Token, they want a Rare Disguise, or any cosmetic, but they're only allowed to barter within the Rare tier. This would allow other players to make offers, and allow the seller to choose which one they want.

Alternatively, the seller could choose exactly what they want. Lets say that the seller has a couple options to choose what offer they want for a specific item. The seller would have a full list to choose from of what they want, like when you're scrapping cosmetics, except it would be every cosmetic in that tier. There would also be placeholder cosmetics which represent a general, nonspecific cosmetic, like any Attack Effect. This would be for someone who wants to be offered something unique or they don't really care what they get, just anything.

    Possible Improvements

Now here are some other ideas on how this could maybe be improved. The idea right now is just a 1 for 1. You need one item to barter for another item of the same tier. You can't barter your Rare item into a Black Market item. But, what if, along with saying a specific item, you could put a price wall with emeralds. So, you'd say in your trade that for 1 Rare Wybel Token, you want 1 Rare Fire Attack Effect and 32 Emerald Blocks.

This would allow the marketplace for cosmetics to be more competitive, but would most likely have the higher tiered items be locked off price-wise to richer players, because the Black Market items would almost always be included with a price wall, which would be several LE, hurting players who got really lucky and were brand new.

    Thoughts on Improvements

While I like the competitive idea, I could see it possibly hurting players that aren't that rich because now they have an item for a class they don't use, or something they don't like. Using a 1-1 system feels a lot friendlier and more helpful to the player, but I'm struggling to think of how the Wynncraft team could benefit from this system. It would transform the crates into less item specific, and more tier specific. There's a lot of players on this server and there's bound to be somebody that wants a cosmetic with their unwanted stuff. I think that it would diminish the individual value of a loot crate, but it would MASSIVELY encourage players to buy into lootcrates, because it's now its okay to get something you don't want. There's two sides to this now that I can foresee: who's buying lootcrates and the scarcity of specific cosmetics

I'm not entirely sure who's buying lootcrates, but some have to be people who are invested already in Wynncraft and people looking to get invested in Wynncraft. There's probably a number somewhere out there that says how many crates people are buying in order to get the specific item they want, which will always be more then they need, because they only need 1. Then there's the number saying how many crates people are buying in order to get the tier of cosmetic they want. While the number of crates sold would certainly go down, the number of people buying crates could possibly go up because they'd be able to get what they want without worrying about paying for something they don't want.

Okay, I've spent way too much time on this. Other ideas:
Replacing emeralds with other items: requesting two+ sepcific/general types of items for one.
Auctions: seeing other offers on an item you want and increasing your own offer.
Item exchange tokens: instead of geting an item in a lootcrate, you win an exchange token which allows you to exchange it for another item of the same tier.

Okay, hope you guys find this interesting :)
