Here's the thing:

You have to change the build depending on the weapon.

Would you make a Thrunda build, stick Cata into it, then call Cata trash because it will have like 6.5k hp? No! If you're comparing the two daggers, you compare them at their full potential. Otherwise, it's not FAIR.

Or, would you make a Lament build, stick Nepta on it, then call Nepta trash because it loses damage and only has like 4/4 mana regen and 3/4 steal? No!

(Then again, we're using Morph, but that's just to cover the complaint of using different builds)

Actually, something to note about your build is that Guardian requires more Def. If you get 110 Def onto the Hive Spear (which is Guard's requirement), then you reach 1.5k more damage on uppercuts compared to Guard.

Let's take you complaining about me noting how the Hive build had Lifesteal (actually, both had Lifesteal from Conflagrate but let's ignore that)

With Guardian, I had to stick Memento on because Guardian doesn't give any natural mana, thus reducing Life Steal.

With Hive, I opted not to use Memento and have uncessary Mana Regen (Hive Spear has 2/4, 2/4), so I kept Conflagrate's Life Steal.

When comparing Items, I believe that you should not only look at the raw stats, but the "build potential" (what item combinations you'll be able to use comfortably depending on the stats) too.

Comparing Morph vs Morph doesn't factor in that Hive can omit certain mana items (Memento, Hamsey, 3eye, etc) for an impressive stat increase. You end up just seeing it as "2/4 more mana in reach category" or something..

Likewise, it doesn't factor in that Guardian can use both Conflagrate and Fire Sanctuary "safely", which gives you a good stat increase (enough to barely pass Hive Spear), and wynndata just lists it as 4600 more hp.


What I was sort of trying to get to in my original complaint about Guardian was this:

Even using items like Fire Sanc + Conflagrate, Guardian just has really subpar damage for an item that costs more then Apocalypse, and even the Defense is barely even better at that point. To sum up, it's not optimal to try to get high damage that rivals other spears.

So, your next option is to go "full blown tank" or something close to that, which is a playstyle that Wynncraft doesn't really support. So, that's not a great option either.

Finally, your last option is to go "almost full blown tank and my damage isn't as bad as Praesidium/Undying". That's a rather niche role and Wynncraft still doesn't really support that play style that much either.
