If I remember correctly wasn't King's Recruit changed recently to be less profession-heavy and more about other mechanics like identifying? If I'm remembering things correctly than the removal of professions in that quest changes it from one of the worst quests into one of the best.

Yes, it was improved, but not enough. There are many things the game should teach the player but doesn't, and instead shows them unnecessary grind

Not removal though, but make it optional and state it in the dialogue.
And please please please don't limit the player's exploration, going too far from objective is fine as long as it is inside the map

Honestly, I was really close to putting Elemental Exercise at #3, but the reason I didn't was because at least it tried to teach you something somewhat important, albeit very poorly. I'd probably put it around #4 on the worst list, but yeah I agree it's still terrible.

Also King's Recruit is definitely a good quest, the only reason it wasn't higher was because in all honesty, it's not really that fun and it really doesn't give that much lore. It's a pretty solid tutorial with getting you familiar with the game, but the main thing I don't like is the pacing. Unlike quests like Deja Vu, it's not as action packed and if you go too far from the NPCs they just teleport you back. It's solid, but it's not my favorite.

ok but there's no way enzan's brother, a completely inoffensive quest, is worse than the display of complete incompetence that Elemental Exercise is.

Again, as I said, the two are easily interchangeable, I just found Enzan's Brother to be worse, but that's just me, I still don't like Elemental Exercise

This isn't even close though, you're saying that the simplest quest in existence is worse than one that's a direct contributor to the vast majority of the playerbase having completely wrong "knowledge" about basic game mechanics? Personally I'd put elemex at the worst by far in this range, if not the entire game for how much negative impact it has.

Wynn doesn't have strict type matchups in the slightest, only leaning into them for weaknesses because of thematic reasons which are completely different (and also contradict them, since fire is a common weakness of plant mobs, etc.). Even though you might be led to believe that by how armor powders function or some other pattern, taking a single glance at mob and item design shows that it's just... thematic. No pokemon types here.

So now that 1.20 is out, I didn't expect Enzan's Brother to be updated of all quests, but I'm not gonna change where I have it right now because in my opinion it's actually worse. Not worse than the bottom two but now it removes the exploration about it and is literally just a quest where you get an item, give it to the NPC standing right next to the cave, and finish it.

I don't like this quest in my opinion, and also feels very wasted for potential. Infested Plants is also pretty bad, and both of which could actually combine to form an interesting questline surrounding the Infested Pit and the spiders of the Nivla Woods. The Mount Wynn segment is pretty eh in my opinion, since it could be implemented as more of a cave to go through.

    #3 Cook Assistant

    AAAAUUUUUGHHH

    #2 Elemental Exercise

This quest kinda tries to be a tutorial quest, but fails in pretty hard. The only thing it really tries to teach you about is elements, which is fine, having a separate quest to teach you about elements is a pretty good idea. Now if only everything you learned wasn't thrown out immediately after the quest.

    #1 King's Recruit

Oh boy, I return from my 6 month (or something like that) forums hiatus just to spew this steaming take. You see, the most important part of a game is the first impression, and this quest does a really bad job of it. 1 word, proffesions. Profs shouldn't be in this quest at all. Profs are far too complex to shove into a new players face right at the start, and they aren't even well explained! The first materials you get are from a fucking chest! You get a false sense of gathering, you barely learn crafting, and you don't know anything about ingrediants. Tbh proffesions should have their own quest to explain them, they shouldn't be lumped in with the tutorial.

In a vacuum this quest is definitely not as bad as the other 2, and really might not even be bottom 3, but given that this is the first impression of the game it's held to a more strict standard.

    Best:

    #3 Maltic's Well

Uhmmm, soooo. The thing is... Level 1-20 quests kinda suck. I don't even really like this quest, but this is a top 3 list soooooo. This is the least meh of the meh quests so it goes here. Anyway onto number 2.

    #2 Sewers of Ragni

So this quest is kinda cool. It offers some pretty cool lore about the, well, Sewers of Ragni. And is also pretty fun. And uh, I don't really have much else to say about it, it isn't very complicated.

    #1 Deja Vu

Finally a good fucking quest. Here we have a quest about time travel, and normally time travel plots would get a failing grade from me, but it's actually done fairly well. Instead of changing the past for purposes of warping your mind beyond repair we're here to fix the timeline and to be warned not to mess with time in the first place. ...Beacause it warps your mind beyond repair. It also helps that the gameplay is fun and we even get a Bob reference. Sweet sweet lore. There isn't a whole lot more to say, the quests still aren't quite as ambitious as some of the later quests so I'm just gonna leave this here. Everybody already knows this quest is good so this entry shocks noone.
