Timeverse - Roleplay [7/999]

"Well... it's better to do something than wait around and wait for something to happen. You should probably go to Notingburg and try and find Midas, although I'm not sure if he'll even be at Notingburg when you get there..." Aliruja then asks. "So I suppose you're only staying for the night?"

"You follow me."

The spy leads you through the series of alleyways. Both of you enter an alleyway with exactly one door at the end of it with a sign depicting a raven's head. Well this seems like an edgy place.

The two of you go inside and find that it's a snazzy little place. There's a bar, there's a few people gambling playing cards, and there's a closed staircase that leads up to the second floor of the building. You look around the first floor a bit more and notice that a lot of the younger people seem to be signaling each other, and there's a lot of mirrors being used. There's a couple younger folk playing at teach table with gambling going on. So the young people are cheating and helping each other.

"I can't be seen here. My boss awaits on the second floor," the spy says before departing and walking out of the door.

 

"At the very least, until I figure out how to get there. It seems a bit far to make it there in time on foot, and I don't think I have any form of currency, local or otherwise, to pay for transport there. Until I have some idea as to what I'll do, please feel free to put me to work as needed. I'd hate to just use what you have without paying you back in some way."

 

Looking at all the cheaters i facepalm and say to myself "Why didn't I think of that..." then I'll try to get to the second floor and meet up with the spys boss

 

"Should I smash these together and see what happens?"

 

"Well..." Aliruja looks around the small livingroom. "I don't have anything for you to do right now." It's kind of late, almost 10 o'clock. There doesn't seem much to do at this point of the day.

What now?

You go upstairs and find a man that appears to be in his late 40s-50s but he has some severe eyebags and lots of grey hair for someone his age. Perhaps being a boss of some sketchy gang has taken its toll on him. The man is sitting leisurely behind a desk and there's an empty chair in front of the table. It seems that he's been expecting you. There's no one else in the room, nor are there any windows. The only way out is the door you came through. That's probably a good thing to take note of.

"Hello Dr. Fiddlehead," his voice has a rasp to it. "Take a seat."

The owl snarls, pauses, and then asks, "What do you want from me, child?" in a very unfriendly tone.

 

I'll sit in the chair and wait for him to talk

 

"Just show me the way out, okay? I have somewhere I need to be. I cant spend all my time here playing around with this thing."
Fiddle with the amulet a bit more

 

"Then I'll be turning in for tonight then."

Sleep for now, but be ready to act if he feels like someone's watching him.

 

The man continues with his talk.

"You owe Stacked Deck quite a large amount of money... an impossible amount of money. They set you up for death... they're playing with their food. I want to help you out of this predicament. I bought a boat and captain to sail you out of the country tomorrow at 4:00 in the morning, long before any Stacked Deck members can catch us. I've also assigned a specific group of people to aid you when you reach Hasbourg in the Manreg Empire. You're a lot more important to the gangs in Macro than you may think."

The man then opens a drawer and pulls out a syringe that's almost empty. it has some sort of ugly green/yellow liquid in it.

"Stacked Deck is developing something stupid. They want to replicate the days of the Death Plague (not in the timeline but just think of the black plague) except they will be in control of the plague. While this is the most stupid plan any gang has ever made, massive damage and severe loss of life will happen. I'm just trying to preserve your capabilities and ensure they don't go to waste... are we on the same page?"

The Owl considers it for a second.

The Owl's anger and annoyance seems to have disappeared which is odd.

He then says deadpan, "You have to head north. You'll run into civilization if you head north."

The Owl then points his wing towards what north supposedly is.

People.

What now?

Dream Sequence

Mikos dreams of Konyu, but instead of a normal looking sunset, the sky takes on a more red, pink, and magenta hue. It kind of looks like the sunset Mikos would see in a dramatic futuristic apocalypse movie...

Then he sees a heavily contrasting and bright comet. It travels over the city and disappears behind the northern barrier and forest before...

Mikos wakes up with a start. Did the comet hit the ground and explode? Mikos looks at the time, it's 6:37 AM... Is anyone in this household awake yet? Perhaps he should check.

Mikos opens the door to his room and the lights are out... yeah no one's awake yet.

What now? (waiting is an option)

 

Judging from the moss on the trees or the sun position, is that north? If not, which way is?

"Kay."
And just head in ehichever direction he pointed out, still with the amulet. I really dont trust it though, it seems like ots schemeing something. There's probably a trap ahead or something approaching, so as long as I pay attention, I should be fine.

"This does sound like a very good deal, too good to be honest." I'll lean in a bit closer and ask "is there something you're not telling me about this?" As i say that I'll try to study his face to see if he's lying

 

The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. There's an abundance of moss due to the density of the forest so it's hard to tell off of the moss. You also don't know whether it is morning or afternoon but it's definitely not noon. That being said, the owl pointed in a direction about 90 degrees from where the sun is so it's either north or south. You begin to walk in that direction and the Owl follows swooping from branch to branch. After about a minute, you run into a lake. A land bridge appears and divides the lake in two. You begin to cross the lake but on your second step, the bridge begins to submerge itself. You quickly back off onto stable land and the bridge reemerges. You decide to go around the lake but as you begin going around, the water seems to grow larger and expand farther onto the land.

So if you go through the lake, the bridge will submerge itself. If you go around the lake, the water will expand and rise at an alarming rate.

The hell is this...

What now?

The man sighs. "There's been a bounty placed on you that only the gangs and underground know about. A dominant merchant of Macro really wants you dead for unknown reasons... his name is Benevelt Morocio, you may have heard of him. Don't feel special though, you're not the only person he wants dead. There's 4 other people he's going to put bounties on. He put a bounty of 10 million corks on each person." The mafia boss then leans back. "I don't plan on turning you in for your bounty, but I do plan on getting your bounty," the man pauses before saying, "This bounty has only been put out for a day but I have the feeling the merchant is going to extend the offer to anyone in Macro."

...

"So there's a merchant, Stacked Deck, and a load of other gangs who probably want you dead. I'm giving you you're only shot at surviving this."

 

"This does seem like the only option... but can you answer 2 questions for me? Who are the other 3 people with a bounty and how do yiu plan on getting mine?"

"Four. Their names are Sveklakov Mietna, Ghanza Dalos, Frena Freno, and Hauwu Oeti. Sveklakov is the man who has the most influence over what comes in and out of the ports. Ghanza is an engineer who creates electromagnetic robots... mainly for combat and protection. Ms. Freno is one of the people who I'm sending with you. She's my source of information... information is power in the underground. Hauwu is a chemist with no remarkable feats..."

"As for your bounty, you're going to ask my young thinker, Nal Canbris. He's also going to be joining you."

Note down the dream sequence, then have a look around, both inside and outside the house, specifically at the sky. If there's nothing of note, go back inside and go back to sleep.

 

I lean back into the chair and ask "So when would i have to leave?"

The house is tidy and clean, just how it was left last night, nothing note worthy. Mikos takes a look outside and the sky is still a dark night sky. It's what anyone would expect at this time of day. Mikos then looks at the north forest and sees a green flash for a second. Mikos blinks and the flash was gone. Was that his imagination?

What now?

"Well you have to be by the north docks at 4:00 in the morning... I guess you have some time to pack your belongings... it's only noon. The boat leaves by 4:30 in the morning for Hasbourg."
