How? You spawn a totem by going to your compass menu, clicking on the totem menu, and selecting a totem. What does the class have to do with anything?

I don't have uproot because I play ritualist. Will my totem enjoy walking around by itself and killing stuff because of Mask of the Fanatic?

 

it will, unfortunately he may disappear into the eldritch pocket dimension every now and again, but if you cast totem, he should be fine with minimal emotional damage

ritualist totems enjoy and get energy from whatever mask you're using
