Something I was considering, why can't both your own loot bonus and the duration the loot chest has been left alone for contribute to the quantity and/or quality of loot in a chest?

They may not be mutually exclusive are they?

 

It doesn't have to be but the latest info says they are.

Loot bonus is for more effective grinding.

Chest looting depends on a formula using:
[tier] + [delta-T from spawn to opening]

This is why hunting for obscure high tier chests is so dang fun. You get the satisfaction of finding a hidden treasure, and if few know about it, you get some very nice toys for your trouble.

Got lucky my first time around Cinfras. Between 5x T-III and 3x T-II chests, I scored 4 Legendary bows and several T-4 powders, along with an assortment of emeralds, uniques and rares of all types. Wish I had found a T-IV in that area.

I've never gotten anything close to that kind of haul going to the same chests since, and I still run with essentially the same gear. So loot bonus changes wouldn't account for that.

The wiki is updated by the community, updates happen every day, it doesn't mean they updated everything.

 

i didnt mean the whole wiki, just the loot bonus and chest part

 

1) Wiki updates are, by nature, erratic and incomplete.
2) Depend on the dev's filling in the info themselves or...
3) For us common folk having accurate and current knowledge which may not be publicly available or only anecdotally available from forums like this.
