World The Raw Melee Damage Bug (with Proof And All)

    i am just making sure to remind the content team before its too late and the update comes out
    Raw melee damage doesnt work on weapons with no neutral damage
    for example , i have a weapon with +50 raw melee damage that deals 100 fire damage
    when i hit with that weapon it will deal 100 fire damage nothing more or less and the 50 raw melee damage wont do anything
    if i have a weapon with +50 raw melee damage that deals 100 neutral damage
    when i hit with that weapon it will deal 150 neutral damage so the 50 raw melee damage will affect it

    Yes, something like this should probably be fixed, since with powders melee-only builds will actually be good, and even though Alkatraz has no powder slots, it literally makes no sense that Taurus's massive raw melee damage wouldn't affect Alkatraz at all...

    Though, I do wonder if the same goes for spell damage as well, with raw spell damage not affecting elemental damage....?

    i dont think so since i have +300 raw spell damage on my idol warrior (which only has water damage) and it does +300 neutral damage on upper cut

    Interesting.... It seems that raw spell damage also doesn't affect elemental damage, but unlike raw melee damage, raw spell damage instead, adds neutral damage, this could prove to brake a few builds (not in the OP sense), rather, what raw spell damage should do is add water damage to your spells, because Neutral damage can't be boosted by skill points, which means your Idol Warrior is weaker than it should be, since raw spell damage is only adding neutral damage to your Warrior.

    I wonder if the developers ran into any trouble on how raw spell damage and spell damage% distribute onto weapons with both Neutral and Elemental damage, and all they went for was a band-aid fix (no offense) with raw only affecting one part of the damage and vice-versa...? @Selvut283 , I apologize for the disturbance once you're online, but could you possibly offer an explanation on the issue and if Salted or anyone has come up with a solution on how to fix this "bug"?

    I have my own solution, take this weapon for example:

    Example Weapon

    Normal Attack Speed

    ✣ Neutral Damage: 10-20
    ❋ Air Damage: 10-20

    Class Req: Warrior/Knight
    Lv. Min: 101
    Agility Min: 1

    +10% Air Damage
    -50 Intelligence

    [0/1] Powder Slots
    Unique Item

    Now, if we were to combine the Neutral and Air damage, we would get 20-40 damage, what if, we were to have both Raw and % Spell/Melee damage distribute itself upon this total damage of 20-40 and distribute itself evenly through the Neutral and Air damage, with Neutral damage being affected by both raw and %, and the air damage being affected by both types, but at the same time still being affected by elemental damage boosts/skill points. It may not be the perfect fix but I think it would be better than what we have right now, with raw and % only affecting certain factors and such.

    This would make it so that:

    If a weapon only does Neutral damage, then raw and % can both affect the neutral damage and combine itself with % boosting raw and such. (I think this is already a thing)

    And if a weapon only does elemental damage of only one type (idol), then just do the same formula on what raw and % would do to neutral damage, but with adding elemental damage to the melee/spells.

    And for a weapon like Freedom, just have raw and % distribute itself over all the 5 elements.

    i just checked with inferno and assassin
    i have +34 spell damage
    yet on multi hit it only works on the last hit and not on all of the 10 unlike weapons with neutral damage which with them it works on all of the 10 hits
    i suspect its the same with upper cut and war scream in warrior

    I shall bump this once again, because I also want this to be fixed, as I am developing a water Warrior build that doesn't use +tier attack speed, I won't say much about it, but I will say it uses lots of raw spell damage, and if I'm correct on what I said earlier, then I will be at a significant disadvantage and will suffer similar results as you have with your Idol Warrior.

    It only works on certain spells. Assassins multihit isn't affected by raw spell unless the weapon has neutral but smoke bomb is affected no matter what. As for archer all of them are affected but I'm not sure. I only use raw damage for my arrow storm spam anyways

    upper cut is effected by neutral damage at all 3 hits i checked it
    it just doesnt work with idol on the full 3 hits only on the first

    yep tahts how it should work
    but weapons with elemental damage are also bugged in a way that if u have spell damage on elemental weapons it only effects 1 tick
    basically elemental weapons are just full of bugs

    Ohhh,thats why my raw spell damage build is crap xd.the server shows i do around 1k neutral damage each tick but end up with only deal 5k damage in total with multi hit

    ..... I do hope any of the staff or the content team notices this thread sometimes soon because this bug seems pretty big, especially for people who want to use builds that don't do neutral damage and have raw melee/spell damage IDs.
