Well, I did say I didn't make either map, tho who would I credit for the original? "Credit it goes to Build Team"?
The thing is about what the next story quest of Wynn COULD be. Gavel added a lot of structures in Almuj Desert, as well as a prison in/near Ternaves. To me, it looked like a path from the Almuj Camp to the Corrupted Mines. Which would make sense to be a viable thing, as a rebellion group need funding for their cause, and since the corruption is dying down, and the mines abandoned, and full of loot, they could easily go to the mines, and start mining again. It also allows for an easier passage to the canyon town. And, they could do all of this without Almjuj city knowing their whereabouts, as they could go around the wall.
Further along the map, along the ocean, it looks like a beach with a cove was added next to the Camp, which would allow passage to ocean. While I have no idea if the Camp and the ocean connect at that point, seeing as the Camp as a fairly large underground tunnel system, they could have a passage. So, the soldiers could take anything in and out of the Camp with out Almuj knowing. However, the only thing out in the ocean that could really beneficial to the Camp would be supplies from Gavel, as I'm certain the viking still hate each other, and Santa, Selchar, and the pirates have their thing going on. The only port that isnt really regulated would be Port Ashojojosh, the one for Fantastic Voyage (which I haven't done, and if you can add any information of the quest to me, it would be beneficial). This port looks to be fairly close to Ahmsord, which, in it's current state, seems to be a small town with an airport, and numerous tourists/adventurers that come in and go out regularly. People could easily get stuff from Cinfras to Ahmsord through the airport, without it causing too much of a hassle with the groups of people who go to Ahmsord. So, since we know the "higher ups of Gavel" have ill intentions (as seen with WynnExcavation, the Prison Escape Quest, ignoring requests to smaller village folk), they could possibly be helping this rebellion in Wynn, and sending them supplies.
I truly don't know how you can "study Dern" when all the info we have on it are endermen.
Now then past this point (which I even said in the OP) things get hairy, as I'm taking other theories, and adding them to mine. The one I liked was #RectangleDream, who I cannot remember who made, so if you can provide the source, it would be beneficial. This guy's theory was possible placement of Fruma and Dern, which I thought could work as Fruma is from behind the castle, and Dern could be next to the Dernal Jungle (which people say it's just a coincidence, but I thought it could be something worth climbing out on a limb for). Seeing as Dern has a high chance of being Ender-based, it could be that the "higher-ups of Gavel", and this rebellion group in Wynn could be getting stuff in and out of Dern. This can be further supported by the WynnExcavation sites, 3 of which are along possible routes to Gavel, one at the mouth of the Mesa, one by the House of Twain (which was struck by corruption at some point) and the Temple in Dernal Jungle.
And I did provide evidence from instances of Quests, as well as how the map currently is (the new prison, Almuj bunkers, links to the map) so, I feel I have provided a good amount of evidence. Also, that last sentence makes 0% sense to me, so please elaborate on it?

We don't know if the ice spikes are even to do with Corruption. I mean, the Decay has spikes, though different to the Corruption. The one thing I've noticed is that the ones around the House of Twain are quite similar to the Decay spikes in Gavel. But Corruption is always netherrack, though netherrack doesn't always mean Corruption (e.g. Ozoth's Spire). I'm not sure what caused the ice spikes near ToA were caused by. Maybe some sort of magic?

In all honesty, going through heavily Decayed areas, I never saw spikes. I saw withered trees, and swamps n' stuff, but not really spikes (though it has been a while since I went through Geliboord and the like). I might have to check out the crater next to the Witch's hut from Taproot again, that might be an exception to the no spikes thing.

Well, it isn't everywhere. But there are spikes in places like where the Black Spot is (made out of dirt and soul sand). And yeah, that place next to the witch hut has spikes. And that seems to be a place the Decay is coming from. I'm not sure, but I seem to remember that other places had similar spikes in Gavel. And they look surprisingly similar to the ones at the House of Twain.

You should have said that the first time. I got confused, that's all. To me it just looked like a bunch of maps, arrows, and something about Dern.

As for the info you don't know

Here is the link for the map (which has link for in drawn on map)
    https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/new-provinces-theory-map.97552/

And here are screenshots taken during the fantastic voyage quest (credit to @Rujala)

So anyway. Yeah. Now that you made it clear what you are trying to say (it was unclear in the original post) I totally agree that the high ups of Gavel are up to no good. I have checked out the desert camp briefly and looked at markeds file on it. I am yet to sea ch the tavernas prison thing though

And now the wiki page on the Dernel jungle specifically states it is unrelated to Dern.

I also want to point out that I do not fully agree with the rectangle dream map, so I am not convinced that that would be the best map to plan on. But you know, you do you.

I just did a lookover of the map, and I'm looking at the House of Twain, and Dark Forest for the most part. The House of Twain spikes look (and this is just my interpretation, I'm using obsidian blocks as a reference) like they were full Roots of Corruption, but something killed the roots, and they are crumbling and falling apart (like, when a vampire touches sunlight, and turns to stone and crumbles away). The spikes in the Dark Forest look like they are made of Earth, not obsidian like corruption roots. Like, if some kind of magic simply "bent" the earth to cause it to "grow" into a spike formation.

Wait, so Fantastic Voyage involves that strip of water from Gavel to the shore, as well as the mines? Damnit, the only quest I need to grind to right now, and it answers questions! In the screenies tho, it looks like Decay kinda meets Corruption, tho I could be wrong, as I'm only seeing the big shrooms (found usually in decayed regions) and Corrupted enemies. IDK if you'd be willing to PM me a run down on the quest or something, I'm now extremely curious about the quest (tho not curious enough to grind for 3 levels). I'll also (try to) add better details to the OP (may be copypastaing.
Rectangle dream is a bit of a stretch, and TBH, adding another theory to a theory usually never looks good, and was iffy to me as well, but it could fit, possibly, maybe, in the long run.

I'll try to get the details out to you by later today. But my Nilrem theory explains a lot about it if you want check it out.

    Also:

It looks more dark rather than decayed or corrupted

And (this is regarding other stuff you said) the house of train existed far before the corruption started.

Since for some reason the button to PM you is not showing up, here we go:

You ar nodding a thing and ure on a boat and stuff. (Sorry I don't know the beginning that well) and long story short there's a storm and you end up on this island.non the island is an unfinished letter saying "Dear Nilrem..."

So anyway you go in these caves and through this portal to what I believe to be Dern. (You can check out my Nilrem theory for more on all this once again). Now I want to remind you. That Dern is "A dark place far off" but "should still be considered a province".

Darkness is different than corruption or decay. So the fact that it says dark skeleton warriors is +1 for being Dern. And it says otherworldly inhabitants. Could a dark place far off be another world? Sure. Considering we don't know anything that would tell us different. The mobs you face are otherworldly inhabitants (which btw are endermen), dark skeletal warriors, disappearing shadows, and one that I could not really read the name of, but I think it is "powder ore".

Now if that powder ore drops powders, than 10/10 we know something about the relics. But for now I don't know. Perhaps when you do it you could tell me.

Anyway to exit the realm you go through another portal and end up in the abandoned mines.

    So yeah.

Nvm about the powder ore, I just read it wrong. It says peculiar one
