The Minion Hate Thread.

I've watched both despicable me movies, and I liked them. The minions where a unique comedy act which I found rather funny. Of course, Merchandise with a successful movie was bound to happen, it's a good market. When I saw the movie coming out, I was rather interested, but I never saw it. The main thing I hate though is how they're still producing merch for it. Most merch lasts a month or two after release then fades for the next fad. Minions are...well, a dead horse as I've said. Yet they still produce merchandise for them.

Lets say there's some really delicous food you like. You have it on occasion and it's nice. If you have it for every meal, you'll soon get sick of it's taste. You see enough of these yellow tic-tacs, with their same comedy act of a love of "Bananas" and you'll want to see them wiped off the face of the earth.

Also, the reason I don't see why this needs to exist, is because, if this one stays, then new people will think "Oh, hate threads are allowed? Ok!" Then they could make hate threads, or others can make hate threads, and all this will do is divide the community. I accept your point of view, I just don't see why this thread needed to even exist...

they were supposed to be plot devices that made Gru look like a villain that couldn't do anything right (getting good minions)
now they've become just another Jar Jar Binks

 

I'd say they're worse than jar jar binks.
Why you ask? Well, there is only one jar jar binks, and that was over 10 years ago.

There's a shit ton of minions. It's an army of jar jar binks(es).

Also, im suprised this thread is still alive. And that 6 people said they like minions.

The defference between jar jar and the minions is jar jar was so hated that J.J Abrams almost put his skull in the force awakens as an Easter egg. While the minions were so loved they got their own movie.

Jar Jar was so hated that he wasn't shoved everywhere, on merchandise, he didn't have a movie, he doesn't have disgusting tic tacs
I don't mind when I see Jar Jar, because he's just pathetic
The minions, however, are just side characters, and when you put them everywhere, it's just trying to make money off of something that was popular because of something else that was popular. Like that Frozen "sequel".
