Have you ever wondered why we call traumatic memories Vietnam flashbacks? Very well, I, a professional Vietnamese, will show you how you can give your opponents these Vietnam flashbacks in the new minigame: The Kindling.

Disclaimer: This guide is only for those who want to suck all the fun out of Kindling and distill it into a cold, methodical grind for the mythic trinket. If you, for some reason, have a j*b or, lord forbid, want to have fun, you may click off.

For flamecatchers, your main goal is to catch the embers. Duh.

    1. Memorize the common hiding spots.

This is more important than memorizing the entire map because it's 10 times easier. Unfortunate souls with disguises such as TNT and bookshelves can only hide in a few spots without sticking out like a sore thumb, so you need to memorize what those spots look like and spot anomalies.

    2. Memorize the map. This is self-explanatory; you want to memorize the map when you play.

    3. Spam the gun as many times as you can. You're gonna get a 5% walk speed debuff, but you'll likely hit something you missed. It's 100% worth it.

    4. Aim for trickshots (hitting something while you're in the air; you can just jump for this btw) and wait for people to disguise before you shoot them again. These give a large amount of extra points. It's free real estate!

    5. Learn how to rocket jump. I can't, and it's totally a ping issue, trust me bro. When you shoot while midair, you will be sent backwards. This will help you navigate so much faster and catch up to the ember's speed boost when hit.

For seekers, your main goal is to fire off as many flares before you die. Surviving is overrated.

    1. Spam walk of shame/group therapy. These are your main source of points, and without these flares you're not going to be making nearly as many points. I'm kinda tired of seeing games where there isn't a single peep from the embers. Don't bother confessing your identity; it's gonna screw you over way more than a general sense of your location. Especially don't confess your identity if you're a grook. You just got the most OP disguise; what are you confessing for?

    2. Believe in your disguise. Don't break cover when someone stares at you the wrong way, because humans evolved to see motion. They might have missed you if you stayed put, but they're 95% gonna see you if you run. Unless they start trying to rocket-jump up, they are following tip 4 of the flamecatchers guide, and you should run for your life.

    3. When running away, don't run in lines straighter than my gender. Your opponent has a gun; twin you're not escaping that way. Instead, run around as many corners and obstacles as possible. This will throw your chaser off, and you can hopefully sneak away.

    4. Most hiding spots obscure your vision in some way. But then I had a very good idea. I used f5. See, using f5 gave me a whole new perspective, and I was able to see a flamecatcher I couldn't possibly have seen before. Use f5 before firing off a flare, please.

    5. Memorize how many of each disguise there are at the start of the game and where they went. Especially those grooks. This will help you with your next tip.

    6. If there's more than 5 embers still alive when kindling is near, activate your last walk of shame and hand yourself over to the flamecatchers. Remember to get your lucky escape points by getting back into hiding between hits. Now that you're a flamecatcher, there's a good chance you can get more points than kindling.

    7. Note that the oranger kindling spot gives 450 points while the yellow? spot gives 250 points. The spot with fewer points is usually easier to reach and safer. Do with this information as you will; I can't recommend which spot to go for as it's extremely circumstantial. I'm not too familiar with kindling.

General tips: Don't rat out hiders. My hatred for these rats is greater than my hatred for professions. It gives you away if you're a hider, as they would know where you roughly are; it gives another hider away, which means you will have one less meat shield, and, to be frank, it costs nothing to not ruin the game for others. Sending hate to the person who spammed "CAKE IN THE BANK" and got caught after. Even if you're a flamecatcher, you still shouldn't rat out a hider's identity. Wouldn't want your fellow flamecatchers catching on (haha get it cause catching and flamecatcher) and stealing points rightfully yours.

ps: Feel free to tell me if any of these tips are horrible and I'll remove them, or if you want me to add extra tips. I'll credit you.
