Yeah, they're in the middle of a battle. Please explain to me, then, how anybody was able to hear Axelus screaming about how they should stop fighting, let alone were willing to listen to him? This is a war, and you can assume that there would easily be other causalities besides just Axelus. They were desperate for summoning Garaheth, yes, but not killing Axelus.

And why did Axelus's death matter? The Dogun Chieftan said directly to Axelus that he was going to kill him right then and there, and he carried through with that statement. The fact that they didn't just continue fighting after that is illogical except for the only reason Axelus matters, which is being the king's son. If Axelus wasn't the king's son, nobody would have listened, and nobody would have cared.

Axelus is not a messiah like the quests have been trying to make him out to be, nor is he even really a character. He is a plot device. The only reason the war stops is because he was the king's son, and even with that in mind I doubt the King of Rodoroc could be reasoned with given what we know about him after witnessing the Doguns kill Axelus right in front of him and the Dogun Chieftan would've just continued fighting anyways because he didn't give a damn about killing Axelus.

That is why Axelus's death, and really his whole character and the plot of Dwarves and Doguns, is so stupid. Gameplay wise, Dwarves and Doguns is higher up than most of the other questlines, but when combined with the plot it is nowhere near top 15 worthy in my opinion, let alone worthy of being alongside the best of the best in Gavel.
You're supposed to go into the teleporter that is the same color as the first teleporter (i.e the teleporters with the green glass panes above them). In all fairness, yeah, the hint from the NPC of looking at the patterns on the floor is kind of irrelevant, but that's how you do it for future reference.
Actually, there is a hint. There are two NPCs, one right outside of Referick's house and the other inside their own house next to Referick, that both tell you to go head towards the castle.

You could argue that having NPCs that aren't specifically part of the quest is bad, but honestly I find that to be cooler than just having cords slapped into your quest book. It makes it a lot more immersive that way.
The point of that is to encourage you to explore the mansion to try and figure out where to go, and suggesting the "tombstone" puzzle is just kind of lying out in the open in the room where its located, it's not like this is difficult to figure out. However, I can still see the complaint for this because yeah why does Death just have a puzzle that you need to figure out to get out of his realm lmao (in a way, it fits his character I guess).
Honestly, this is more of a problem with the quest being easily skipped with movement spells. You're supposed to follow the cheese or whatever in order to eventually ascend up to where the mushroom is, but it's just much easier to skip it with vertical movement spells. Hell, even Warrior's charge can skip a good chunk of it by just getting high enough in the normal parkour and then charge spamming over to the mushroom (and I often have to do this with Mage as well due to the "you can't teleport here!" message).

It upsets me because the concept of an Olmic rune good, or at least the pitch of "a quest without dialog." Like, personally I can think of some really interesting ideas that could happen within the Silent Expanse.

    I mean here.
Question the purpose of some building/structure within the city, hide hints around the city, and then give players some way of confirming they understand the hints. Congrats, you made a detective quest.

I just realized they already made a quest without dialog, and it was good: A Grave Mistake. Like, ok it has a couple of lines in the start, but otherwise it has no dialog, and tells a good story.

    Wait how does it lie?
I know it over exaggerates the effects of elemental defense but I don't recall it lying about anything?

    :)

    Edit: ok I'll explain
Overexaggerating eledefs to the point that elemex does is a straight-up lie.

For other things that wynn conveniently misleads/lies about:
    - Strength is described vaguely and is implied to be multiplicative when it's very sadly additive and a waste of extra skillpoints
    - Dexterity "double damage" isn't actually double damage because it's a +100% spell/melee damage bonus. That's nowhere near double in a practical scenario.
    - Rainbow armor in general is super appealing low level because of the sheer number of IDs. That eledef/eledef%/eledam% basically means it appears to have 5x the ids it really effectively has and baits many new players into wasting their skillpoints to use rainbow. (A good solution would be to make Elemental Damage% and Elemental Defense% new identifications that are basically rainbow damage%)

a LOT more but I'm hungry,, will come back
