I really disagree with Ant Venom here.

1. He says they are expanding Java
Yes they are going to do that, what are they adding? Colorful blocks and dancing parrots, Much needed updates like a rebalancing of the combat system. They literally asked reddit for pvp feedback, and ignored other sources. Perhaps they will continue to add updates to P.C., and will not kill it, still gonna be sorta shit in my opinion. Why? Minecraft doesn't really need updates. What else can they add? The recent updates really appeal to younger audiances, across all platforms. But perhaps [likely] I am wrong. O.K. Onto point 2.

Java is the LEAST popular minecraft version,
and is the LEAST popular in all areas except for Asia.
Although P.C. costs the most money, it makes less money, why?

On pocket edition microsoft is taking player made maps, and selling them.... for money

On the P.C. this is free and rampant

+Maps [only 1 free map pre given, no info on getting free maps]

Basically microsoft is going have to squeeze cash from every corner to make back their 3 BILLION DOLLARS!

When about 80% of minecraft sales is console and pocket edition, its the smarter money choice to focus on those platforms.
They may not kill java, but they certainly don't care about quality content.
They need the $$$
from giving 4 year olds their power rangers skin pack, their frozen themed maps,


+AntVenoms only point was that they were adding devs. Doesn't tell us much. Just says they are going to continue dev'ing the game. Is that good or bad? List the last GOOD update. Some may disagree with me [a lot probably] but 1.9 was disliked. The color update was liked by builders [that was an allright one I guess] People hated the auto crafting. and parrots? really useless, just to appeal and make $$$ from children

I was being sarcastic about the post you quoted me on if it wasn't obvious.

In response to your other stuff, Im confused by how you're finding out the "last GOOD update". I'm assuming that it's just your friends' opinions, but that wouldn't really be a good sample to go off of. I have many friends, who have been playing since beta, who enjoy the recent updates. We can't say the recent updates are disliked, because we both have bad samples to base our data off of. With that being said, I don't think it's fair to say that Microsoft doesn't care about quality content for the Java Edition of Minecraft because you can't really support that claim.

Also, if more people are joining the Minecraft development team, shouldn't that mean more updates will be produced? Isn't that what keeps the Java Edition of Minecraft from becoming a "community edition"?

I also want to let you know, http://imgur.com/a/ZcHm5 It seems to also include texture changes to the entirety of our old classic textures. (Pls mojang, give us the option to have a classic texture pack along side this new one.)

 

Honestly, they're not that bad, but having a texture pack would be nice, which I'm sure someone will make in the first 15 minutes the update releases.

Majority of players dislike 1.9

Terracotta is nice I admit, any new thing is pretty nice,




The main problem is that Java isn't making much money, unless im totally wrong and microsoft isnt being a piece of shit, they are probably going to start interfering more

I never said 1.9 is liked by everyone. I said you don't have enough proof to say that 1.9 is disliked by the majority. A few small youtubers making videos about how 1.9 is bad doesn't mean 1.9 is disliked by the majority. All I'm saying is you don't have sufficient proof to say recent updates are bad or disliked by many.

Redstone Update

Command Block Update

End Update

WIther update etc etc




Compared to modern updates:


Semi-Liked pvp update with many unused things [when have you ever used a tip arrow or a aoe pot]

A bunch of new blocks that have more use for retexturing and map making [terracotta-Concrete [which are good blocks, just not used much normally]

Mobs like dancing parrots and spitting Llamas

1.13 [A literal texture pack....]

Functions [gud]

My point?

Minecraft really is running out of things to update

not all future updates can be quality


I'm pretty sure most everyone would agree that each update is not as great as the last one


some exceptions apply, but the past past updates I think everyone would agree was way better


agree with Markus, Minecraft was not ment to be a huge huge game,

there are really no more major updates to be had
