Taproot Broken?

I've gotten to the parkour in Taproot. (It's super laggy, I get 10% of my usual frames so wtf) But anyways, I go to the flower. When I step on the flower in the parkour it tells me "you shouldn't try to escape". I looked up a guide and the guy just went right through no problem. Is there something I'm missing?

 

You most likely missed dialogue (this seems to happen a lot). Start the parkour again and sort of walk around each platform (not sure which one it is) and each to trigger the dialogue.

 

Well I would do that, but the area is so laggy that I have to TP to not fall off.

Edit: I actually have 9FPS right now on a really good computer.

 

As in, you teleport between each platform? That wouldn't stop you from "searching" the platform. If lag causes you to fall off, just crouch.
