not sure, i have never done the talking mushroom stuff

 

Quick guide for how to do it:
1) Take the talking mushroom
2) Start a new class
3) Have the mushroom in your inventory at all times
4) play

 

the actual dialogue inside the old lab is slightly different as well

There's also dialogue in the normal Ariodo's lab. You need to break into the panda enclosure with a rock to trigger it.
