Ruleset:

• 3 Stocks
• 8 Minutes
• No Customs
• No Equipment
• No Items
• BO3, Finals are BO5
• Double Elimination
• Gentleman's Rule - If you and your opponent both agree to a stage than you can go ahead and play there.
• Dave's Stupid Rule - You can not play on the same stage twice in the same set.

BO means Best Of, in case you haven't figured that out yet.

We don't really have a ton of players, compared to national tournaments. Those tournaments have all kinds of close skill level, thus making a first to 3 more accurate to determine who has better skill among the 2 players. Here, on this random website that has no association with Smash bros, the skill levels are drastically different between players. You would normally be able to tell who the better player is here, with a faster best of 3. Finals use a best of 5 because you're basically gathering the best 2 players from the tournament list and making them fight each other to determine who is better. And plus, this is double elimination, so if the matches were really close and you really think that you could have won against that player, you have a 2nd chance in Losers bracket to make it back into the finals.
