This whole light and dark thing is not very equal. How come Orphion isn't as strong as the Dern beast? Why is corruption siding with the dark instead of being a neutral party? If the story became about taoism, then shouldn't the light and dark both be bad options?

Well, the nuclear fallout is neutral, because the "fucked up" regions do not belong to anyone, right? Neither Light, neither Dark.

 

Opposite in status maybe? Lari is imbued with power from orphion and serves as a servant basically, going out to fix the problems orphion encounters. The same could be said about Bakal and the dern beast, despite neither originating from either RoL or Dern.

 

Bak'al is not imbued with the power of Dark, he is imbued with the power or Corruption. I am not really sure these cam mix well...

 

This fallout isn't neutral either. If it was neutral, it would be far easier to deal with. It's less of a neutral ground and more of an eldritch horror made from the violent clash of 2 other parts. It is pure, untamed chaos. Nothing more, nothing less. Neutrality is the LAST thing you can describe the Corruption as.

 

But the Corruption is not Light, right? No, it isn't.
But is it Dark? No, it isn't.

It is not affiliated with either, thus it is neutral.

Yes, it is evil, but it is neutral in the War of Realms

 

Then Chaotic Neutral?

 

So lets say the corruption realizes Dern is a thing. Will they attack them?

 

how is the corruption not "dark?" i'm pretty sure the corruption is supposed to be wynncraft's idea of darkness/evil and light is supposed to be wynncraft's version of goodness and etc. bak'al represents the corruption (evil) and lari represents light (good). they're opposites! the most neutral thing in the war of realms would probably be the player, but even then, i think they do more good deeds than bad ones.

 

No. Light is supposed to good, Darkness/Dern is the evil.

Corruption is what is created when evil and good clash.

And although Bak'al serves Dern Beast it does NOT mean Corruption is affiliated with Darkness in ANY way. Bak'al is a powerful corrupted, NOT the leader of the Corruption

 

okay gotcha. but even so, since bak'al serves the dern beast and lari serves orphion, wouldn't that still make them opposites? cause bak'al would be to dern beast as lari is to orphion?

So to makes this clear to everyone since there are some ppl who dont know what "Taoism" is. Basically playing off of the idea that "The lightest light wont beat the darkest dark, you must have both to survive" Taoism says that u have to take things in balance. There is reasoning behind this tho. Light's weakness is darkness, and Darkness's weakness is light. So they are weak to each other, so they both obliterates each other equally, meaning no winner. HOWEVER someone who is in the middle can win, as they have become resistant to each power. (The player cant be infected by light or dark) Due to this, the player has an advantage over each power. Ligh's weakness(darkness) is something the player can use. Vice versa, however due to the player having resistance to light, the light wont do as much dmg as it does to the darkness

Think of it like this:

Light < Darkenss

Darkness < Light

Light < Balance> Darkness

Now, we cannot confuse Corruption with balance. Corruption is the result of both sides attacking each other. Its more of a byproduct. Someone else said it really well, "Corruption is like the nuclear fallout from a nuke, with the nuke being the two powers fighting." Corruption has no mind, though, plans or ideals. It simply engulfs, its a virus. Corruption cant really be controlled. Bak'al is more of a champion of the corruption. He is a warrior who still have control over his own mind and body, however he has the powers of the corruption. My own theory is that He was originally a light being, and was infected by darkness, this inturn made him into a corrupted being, yet since he was a strong being he held control of his own mind. This is why he is able to control the corruption to an extent.

The player holds Taoism due to them being a "neutral" being. They are not directly light or dark, they are just a being. However that player is able to chose the side they want to work with more.

TLDR; We shouldn't confuse Taoism with Corruption, as you can think Taoism is the power to resist the influence of both light and dark, where corruption is the combined destructive power of both, making it its own separate power.

 

Normally I keep my annoyances to myself but something tells me none of you have done even any research at all here have you? I was going to complain more but its better if I just list facts so that I don't have to rewrite this 100 times because I sound like a salty four year old. >:(

No. It has a name, its called the Twilight.

So far every time I've made a stink about it no one has told me I'm wrong (as far as I can remember), so until things stop making this seem true it would likely be best for people to remember the Twilight exists, as calling it Taoism makes you sound like some kind of Pokémon theorist with way to many ads at the start of their videos.

In the Troms Scenario, Bak'al tasks us to release the Corruptor of Worlds to take down Troms. One could infer that the corruption is part of the Dark, however Bak'al then states that the last time he tried to siege Troms, CoW pretty much wiped out his whole army.



The corruption is evil yes, but it takes no sides and is simply a force of pure chaotic destruction.

 

Except Bak'al is Corrupted too, and presumably didn't serve Dern before he fought Bob.
