Studying The Corrupt

I have been into the crypt under the Elkurn Church and found the journal.

I didn't take the journal with me (should I have done? I tried shooting it but it didn't drop)

I have found the Adventurer in the Roots of Corruption but he won't talk to me. My guess is that I need the journal with me?

Talking to the original guy who gave me the key to the Elkurn crypt so I can't get back in to try and get the journal just results in some random dialogue about ruined crops....

Any ideas? Thanks.

 

The journal in Elkurn is an NPC, not an item, so you didn't have to pick it up. What does your quest book say?

Found an Adventuring Mage who won't talk to me. Outside a room with an NPC called 'Jorkin' who will only tell me it's dangerous in the nether

 

the mage should talk to you, right click him, then go to the blocked off entrance and then talk to him again, he will open it up, inside you will find a journal, read it and then go back to the lost sanctuary and tada, the quest is complete

 

ugh! So, you need to not use your wand to right-click the adventurer or he doesn't respond. I feel like I should have known that!
