Strength Doens't Affect Poison?

    so I've heard people talking about how strength affects poison stats{ex: 10k/3s poison + 90 STR(60% dmg boost) = 16k/3s}
    I tried making a poison build that has about 20k/3s poison & 90 STR, and it doesn't seem like it's getting affected by strength stats. Am I holding on to outdated data or have I not known correct information from the start?
