Hello. As some of you may know, last night there was a CT stream, lasting from 5pm EST to 8pm EST. On this stream, some interesting things were said so I'll be listing them for any of you who missed out. Members of the CT answered questions and Salted created a warrior and levelled it while the stream was going on. Here are some things of relevance we learned: 1: Loot bonus does not affect the tier of items you find, only the amount of items you find. This may have been known among a lot of people before but this was just confirmation. No matter your loot bonus, if given an adequate sample size of item drops the ratio of legendaries:rares:uniques should be the same; you'll just receive more items. 2: In the Economy Update, there was a plan to make loot chests client-side as a secondary task, but there was no time for this. 3: They talked about "mob locks" on some chests in things that may be considered mini-dungeons, e.g. Lion's Den. These would be where you have to a kill certain amount of mobs surrounding a chest to access that chest. 4: After jpresent left, they stopped developing a guild update for now. 5: Pandemonium will not be buffed because Salted planned for it to be a crazy and interesting item from a quest (although it somehow made its way into drop pools) - a weird and crazy item that you are only meant to get once, but that has little use. 6: Salted said he wouldn't have developed Wynncraft if he knew Dungeon Realms existed (may have already been known, but this is the first I've heard of it) 7: One of Salted's inspirations of Wynn, or parts of it, was a game he used to play called Dofus. 8: Imaxelius stated that the hardest project he worked on was probably The Envoy quests, although he is working on something for one of the upcoming updates that is more difficult to develop. 9: They wanted to release RTD alongside the Economy update, but it was scrapped because they didn't feel their ideas or content was up to scratch to release RTD alongside the Eco update. RTD would have been of a shitty quality if they released it with the Eco update is basically what they said. After this, I asked if they had made much progress and had a better idea what to do with RTD now, and they confirmed that they did. 10: During the hour or so that some of the IM answered questions (primarily Selvut), we were told that a big goal of the item revamp is to make more types of builds usable, instead of just melee tier stack or spell spam. They acknowledged some builds would always be better than others, but this would make a lot more builds competitive with each other. An example of this was Selvut talking about a Magnus build he made which primarily used chain lightning + exploding instead of tier stack or spell spam as mentioned above. 11: Not many lower tier items will be added. This is because drop pools are quite saturated already and adding more items would make it even more annoying to get the items you want, especially with uniques becoming more useful. 12: When a mob is killed at any level, the 7/1,000,000 roll chance for a mythic still exists. The game "rolls" what tier a drop will be, and even for lower levels this can land on mythic. However, a mythic will only drop if it's within the level range of the mob. If there is no mythic within the mob's level range, then nothing will be dropped. When grinding low level mobs, you may have gotten a mythic if you were grinding higher level mobs, but instead you got nothing because no mythic existed within that level range. 13: Mortal Mountain was a dungeon originally meant to be in the COTL. It was listed on the Wynncraft website for some time not long after Gavel's release. It was confirmed that this was in development but was scrapped because some of the things they wanted to do for it were too ambitious for the time. 14: Salted said that housing and backpacks may be cool ideas if done properly. He said backpacks would be a cool idea in response to a question about his favourite general suggestion not in the game. - credit @ParkourTNT 15: Drop rate for T3 ingredients is approximately 0.02% from normal mobs. - credit @Dondasch 16: Wynncraft servers average around 15k entities at once. 17: It was said that smaller suggestions are more likely to be added, them using the suggestion of "add a new province" as one that is too big to be viable. Something small, useful and easy is most likely to be added. 18: Wynn don't just "hire more devs" because there is a lot of knowledge about how the game/plugins work required which someone who can only program isn't aware of by default. Training them would take a bunch of time. 19: Salted said chests work by simulating you killing a lot of mobs at once, but didn't offer any information relating to how loot bonus affects this. As the tier of the chest rises, the amount of mobs "killed" increases. - credit @ParkourTNT @Xavi 20: There won't be an update mainly focused on revamping Gavel in the near future as things are. - credit @ParkourTNT @Xavi 21: It says "As the sun rises, you feel a little safer..." when you get a soul point because originally Wynncraft planned to make the cycle of day and night more significant. They wanted to have mobs be stronger at night, and I'm sure some other things that weren't mentioned on-stream. - credit @ParkourTNT 22: The banhammer is not an instrument. 23: The CT doesn't have plans to work on the Realm of Light right now. If I missed out on anything of note please say, I probably forgot some things. And if I got anything wrong I will correct it, but to my knowledge these points are accurate.
