    How spellcost is calculated:

    Method 1:
    1. Apply int
    2. Round result up
    3. Apply raw spell cost id
    4. Apply % spell cost id
    5. Round result down

    Method 2:
    1. Round down the int reduction amount
    2. Subtract it from the base cost
    3. Add raw spell cost id to result
    4. Round down the spellcost % reduction amount (sign = spellcost % sign)
    5. Add it to the result

oh yeah don't forget, rounding down a negative means more negative

    -----------------------------------------------------

    Example:
(probably outdated so just read below): https://www.wynndata.tk/s/zbuayx
    ok updated link
    Aquamarine/Soul Signal/The Ephemeral/Slayer
    Draoi Fair/Finesse/Sacramentalia/Contrast
    Pure

    68 int
    3rd Spell Cost +1
    3rd Spell Cost -71%

    Method 1:
    Meteor base cost is 8.
You apply intelligence to that (68 int = ~50.3% reduced mana usage, so multiply by 100% - 50.3% = 49.7%) and get 3.976.
    Rounded up, that's 4.

Raw spell is +1, so you get 5.
Applying the spellcost % id (-71%) to 5, we get 1.45.
    1.45 rounds down to 1

    Final meteor cost: 1

    Method 2:
    Meteor base cost is 8.
    Int reduction amount (68 int = ~50.3% reduction) 8 * 50.3% = 4.024, rounds down to 4
    base cost 8 - 4 = 4

Raw spell is +1, so you get 5.
    spellcost % result is -71% * 5 = -3.55, rounds down to -4
    5 + (-4) = 1

    Final meteor cost: 1

Also since the spellcost after int and raw is 5, the spellcost threshold for a 1 cost meteor in this build is -61%.

    -----------------------------------------------------

Use the spellcost you get after factoring in both int and raw spell cost. It is considered as the "base" for this chart.

    -spellcost % threshold chart:
(Up to the absolute worst case, 18, which is a minroll Lower with 0 int):
    Code:
1: -1% = 0 (0 doesn't mean free, it still costs 1. It does affect repeat spellcasts though, you get another 1 cost cast.)
    2: -51% = 0, -1% = 1
    3: -67% = 0, -34% = 1, -1% = 2
    4: -76% = 0, -51% = 1, -26% = 2, -1% = 3

Note: -raw cost that makes your spellcost "negative" means you get to cast it that many times at 1 mana, basically.

    Quick references to base spellcosts:
    Archer: 6/3/8/10
    Assassin: 6/2/8/8
    Warrior: 6/4/9/6
    Mage: 6/4/8/4
    Shaman: 4/1/8/6

    thanks @iTechnically, @hppeng, @Bart (MC), @Druser, @Wxhlf for messing with my brain

epic calculator; you might want to mention briefly why -1% spell cost lowers the entire cost by one (kinda borked tbh). (Or maybe I missed it, it's 2:30 and I'm basically forcing my eyes open by having to look at my god-awful pfp to re-instill a fight or flight response to keep me awake)

It would not be that important cause you shouldn’t be using them if you are using spell build but if you aren’t using spell build the costs don’t rly matter anyway

The -ve spell cost would additively balance it out
If you get a +10% spell cost armor and pair it with a -20% spell cost armor you can refer to the chart with -10% spell cost.
Also you wouldn’t normally have +spell cost armors in a good spell build unless your weapon has it

Some of my experiments with this have been counterintuitive. Wynndata is probably right but I would recommend testing ingame to be sure.
