Does the hard puzzle's answer have any capitals, numbers, symbols, gang signs, emojis or any other ascii related shenanigans in it?

 

If it does then its going to be nearly impossible

 

I showed it to some people and they said that it was a salted md5 hash.

They also said that if it were a website password that the programmer had no idea what they were doing. However, if the code were long enough/complex enough, it would be practically impossible to find the original code.

 

Yea but if it has even 1 ascii character like a symbol (not the normal alphabet), then it's so much harder. And we're just assuming there's only 1. What if there's 2? 5?

Also don't read my first point it doesn't make much sense.

 

It made sense, if there were more than one, it would be hell rather than just having one at the end. That's why my passwords are both very long and have a ton of different character's in it.

This "puzzle" would be like me sending out a pgp encrypted message and telling people that if they could tell what's in it I would give them a white horse

99 years ago... 99 years ago was a total solar eclipse in US. I don't know if this gives us anything but that was what I've found.

Aand if I think cipher wise, then 99 years ago was 1918 the end of the first World War. In this time there was multiple encoding technologies, like with the Enigma machine, or they used the Vigenere cipher too.
