This suggestion is basically me trying to tackle a very simple, often inconveniencing but definitely annoying issue.

Every time you respawn, the game tries to put you to the closest town. Except, the game's spaghetti code cannot make sense of "out of regular gameplay bounds" areas like Quest areas (A Journey Beyond's infamous cart segment), and tries to quite literally put you to the closest town. In this case, Lusuco.

The suggestion is actually fairly simple. But first, I need to explain how Wynncraft's respawn system works, as an excessively long ELI5, and talk about the current respawn system.

Assume you did the big no-no of tackling a massive horde of grind mobs by yourself and died as a result. If you died in the Desert area, the game will try to put you into the city of Almuj. If you died in the Nesaak Tundra, the game will put you to either Nesaak or Lusuco (depends on how far south you have gone). The game will put you to the closest city without a problem.

Dungeons instead check if the player is in a dungeon area (i.e. Undergrowth Ruins), and if they are, their respawn point will be set to that Dungeon's entrance rather than a city. This prevents the game from checking for a suitable respawning town and just straight yeets the player to the dungeon's entrance, no questions asked, to avoid complications[citation needed].

Issues arise when the area has a different coordinate range than what is on the actual area (again, take the "escort the cart" segment). According to Wynncraft, the actual Silent Expanse is at the south end of the map, to the east of the Nesaak Tundra. The quest area where you have to escort the cart is in a completely different coordinate range in order to segregate the quest mobs from the actual mobs in the area to avoid being overwhelmed by the environment, besides the one that is in the area. This is understandable. Except, the quest area where you have to escort the cart is in a completely different coordinate range. To be more specific, far too much to the west (I don't remember the exact coordinates). The game tries to put you to the closest town available, and that town just so happens to be Lusuco, because it is technically the shortest distance from where you have died. This happened to me a couple other times in different Quests and one specific Discovery:
    • Tower of Ascension sometimes puts you to Lutho instead of Lusuco (I had already done all of the Silent Expanse quests at that point, so no sequence breaks there). This is because the game thinks you're closer to Lutho than you are to Lusuco by comparing the distance between your death coordinate and the towns.
    • A Hero's Origins is impossible to die in unless you /kill or fail forever in parkour. When I died, it put me to Corkus City, a completely unrelated area of the game (had done The Envoy, Part I, so no sequence breaking there either).
The suggestion, as I've said earlier above, is actually very simple:

"Instead of checking for the literal closest distance between where you died in and the closest town, check for the closest distance where you got warped to a quest area and the closest town so that when you die, you get teleported from your warping position instead of your literal position."

This allows the player to resume the "Escort Aledar" sequence in A Journey Beyond much more easily since the game now tries to put the player in Elkurn (based on where you got warped rather than where you died) instead of Lusuco.

I see people put this so many times in suggestions, CT need to have a listen to the community regarding this change!

    Completely agree

CT need to communicate more, not just this suggestion. I think I am not the only one who doesn't like silence for months! (except little change to tutorial, quest feedback and the latest post by Salted)

    Could you add a poll?
Also, we need this. I respawned in Ternaves after dying inside of the demon dude in the Dwarves and Doguns questline.

I was careful not to outright critique the CT for their lack of communication, I myself would prefer small updates and BUG FIXING before big updates, like they used to all those golden years ago

yes, the feeling when you get one shotted by cybel and respawn in LLEVIGAR is just something to experience (best experience is when you have no LI scrolls)

While you're at it, make respawns a bit higher. Too many new players having to ask how to get unstuck.
