also the multihive builds were each different
i would much rather have a difficult qira and multihive than a pushover and single hive

 

The multihive builds never used more than two items different depending on whether you wanted to tank or deal damage; they pretty much all used Capricorn, Statue, or paradox, and then morph stardust. They were about as uniform as you could get, and the power difference between the average build and multihive was so great that there was literally no reason not to use it outside of not having enough time to grind for it.

5 skill points where you want them makes a much larger difference when it comes to meeting requirements for specialized items.

 

+2 because to not die in some boss fights I keep rainbow slapping

 

I think having an extra boost in every skill point is better than over specializing in a single area, especially at later levels of skill points where +5 in one element adds less % than +2 in every area.
