If we are strictly talking about a helmet being created, +5 in one SP because we already have numerous multi SP helmets like Stardust, Shimmersight and blue mask.

In terms of general items, i would still prefer +5 in one SP. Rainbow builds generally revolve around being a boring tank. (Additionally, you'll likleyI would rather have more interesting options for 1/2 element builds as long as the item doesn't have heavy negative draw backs that restrict it to only 1 element. Additionally, if you are using a +2 SP rainbow for a 2 element build, youll likely have to use another rainbow piece of armor to get to the required SP you need instead of another raw, single element SP armor piece which will help boost your target damage.

Voted +2, as if I go with that and assuming it's Zero in all the other skills, I get 5 extra skill points I don't have to spend out of the 198 points from the my level up. However, I would go for the +5 if it is an item I have to equip towards the end of the list, as if that is the case the other stats to not matter since they won't save me any of the level up points anyway. But i'd instinctively go for the +2 all round

For the poll i said 5 but overall it would depend on the stats. Obviously for a rainbow build having more skill points in all stats in beneficial but if youre using a build that has most skill points in one or two elements, overall you would benefit more from having the +5, assuming you dont need any of the other categories for your build

Either one works depending on what skill point the +5 gives to. If it’s strength or defence I’m go for the +5, if not the rainbow.

Dont think about it in the current item pool. Its just an example for us to see preferences of people. Imagine all other helmets do not exist. Only these two

If this is the only armor piece we take into consideration those 2 intel points will have no impact
(Due to price rounding, at lvl 2 intel you have no reduction yet.)

So it's +2 to strength, dex, def and agi
or +5 in a single one of these.
If you don't pair it with any other armor I'd almost always choose the +2 everywhere due to how skill points become less valuable if you put more into them.

    +2 in all

    Because:
In most builds you divide your skill points in at least 3 elements so 2x3=6 >5 (quick math :p)

if we dont consider any other items, then the +5 is still better, as having +2 in a stat will not have any effect (no -mana, no +dmg)
however, +5 will have a slight effect.

also, it depends a lot on the requirements
if the +2 one needed x skill points in all stats, and the +5 one only needed skill points in that stat, the +5 will directly benefit your build more, as you won't have to get skill points in the other two or three stats that you don't want in your build

usually a balanced build (not necessarily a rainbow slap) need to be built around 3 elements (usually 2 main elements and 68 int for spells)
So if the requirements of this helmet aren't too high is most useful the rainbow one because:
    2sp x3 elements = 6 sp bonus
    5spx1 element = 5 sp bonus
Also this is the reason behind the success of stardust/libra/vaward etc

This is my answer without considering the other bonus/malus stats of both helmets that aren't mentioned.

EDIT: i noticed that a lot of people said the same reasons <3

    +2

    ....its simply better

2 each means 10sp boost total, double than 5

A lot of good often used items require rainbow sp

End game builds rarely focus in 1 or 2 sp reqs but rather require more balanced sp in overall

Even if you dont need the extra +2 in some elements to wear the build, they always help with damages (earth/dex), defs (agi/def) and mana/int

So...yeah... +2 is better... Go nerf every "+2" to "+5"

This entire line of thought hinges on the idea that the item has SP's for the stat you want. Generic +2 items are
because they offer a more general approach to build making and improve flexibility. End game builds don't often end with only 1 element, thus making the +5 inferior. Narrow minded building with all SP's funnelled into a single stat will be worse than a well balanced build with broader skill point assignments.

we used to have to be creative in build-making
like not spamming dark chan + BPA for spellspam, or Discharge/Resistance for thunder

Then we had easy comboes, like those

Now we have nerfs to the ground and below which make items unusable so we might have to go back to using like Anti-Static Leggings or Ronin

Dude. Do you NOT remember pre-hive nerf? There were exactly two viable builds: attack speed and multihive. Then before that it was rainbow statue tanks and poison mages.

Even if you don't think it ever worked, that is the amount of skill points needed to outclass rainbow slap items though. With gigabyre I am able to almost always use 12-16 of the 20 skill points it provides for meeting requirements. Just A thought.
