Sketch Thread ([not so daily] Daily sketches!)

I think I tightened up a few things with this, specifically the line art coloration. Oh, and I like how I did the background, it's pretty :D

After drawing the Wayfinder, I thought it would be nice to draw them a friend, so here's a thingy named Beckett.

Literally rushing my head off with this, an actual sketch, because I DON'T HAVE TIME!!!

Spoiler: TnT Wizards 2 concept: Bomber/Builder Class

The Bomber, as I'm calling it, would be able to place both explosive mines, able to be activated by both the bomber and their teammates by shooting it, and walls, helping to define the backline and frontline. Me and my brother came up with this while talking about my idea for a better TnT Wizards. We got onto the topic of the backlines and frontlines, which is important for the 3 combat classes, and I realized that every problem I had thought of with the backlines and frontlines not moving dynamically, causing stalemates, etc, was solved when I realized:
"The whole thing with Wizards is that crap blows up, so if obstacles could be destroyed, and rebuilt, that would allow the frontline to move dynamically with the battle, with more obstacles being destroyed as the battle moved forward, changing which combat class would thrive in the given location. Ah-ha! It's PERFECT!"

I dunno man, this seems a good excuse to keep trying to learn Unity.

 

Turned the concept from yesterday into a complete design.

Spoiler: Tommy (TnT Wizards 2 class)

The last remnant of a discontinued, experimental line of Bipedal Anthro-Droids utilizing hover technology, abandoned because of safety concerns. The highly rebuildable design of the Sus.-Based Droid made it a perfect candidate for explosives-handling, creating a Droid often seen in the mid to backlines of battlefields, building up defenses, and blowing overconfident fighters to smithereens, nicknamed "Tommy" for the mine-planting gun held by it, which itself is called a 'Tommy-Bomber', which resembles a Tommy-gun in some of its characteristics.

 

Couldn't do more than a very, very basic and messy patch up job for the lighting because of time constraints, but the concept is still fun.
My brother told me I didn't have to get my own ideas, and can just draw other artist's characters, so here are two characters from Thomas Fischbach's Twokinds.

One of the things I saw, which I sadly didn't get to test out, while making yesterdays piece, was Fischbach's shading/lighting method, which seemed, well, a whole lot better than mine. I decided to do a quick test to find my own version of that better shading method, changing things to my liking, and I got this!
(This is not the piece for the day, just a small scale test beforehand)

Yes, I know, the shadows are bright purple, but, honestly, I'm kinda diggin' it.

Spoiler: The Wise Courier (An End)

I got this done in maybe 2 hours, when other pieces have taken 5 or even 6 hours to complete. I think it was partly just the fact I was, y'know, actually completely focused on the drawing, but also, I didn't do line art.
The two most time consuming parts of a drawing is getting the idea, and line art, with line art taking the most time by a long shot. Coloring did take a bit longer, cause this sorta merges coloring and line art, but it was significantly faster, and easier to focus on.

Oh, and here's something I've wanted to do for a while.

Another piece without line art. I really wanna get good at it so I can (hopefully) leave behind my least favorite part of drawing forever.

Spoiler: Daisy (An on the spot character)

Daisy, an out-of-her-mind stressed restaurant owner at the end of her wire. One in need of support and guidance, at the top of the pecking order. She really needs a friend, but everyone she meets seems to disappear. No wonder she's so agitated.

 

Doggo!

Spoiler: Emison

Emison, a possibly ambiguously gendered dog that works for the High Kings as the second in command of the Seekers, a small group of uniquely powerful individuals tasked with the research and wellbeing of the wider world. Emison only finds themself in such a lofty position because of their authoritative and fast-thinking personality, and their ability to make the hard calls quickly. In the social/leadership hierarchy, the only one standing above them is the elusive 'Z', who makes the final calls on anything big, especially that which concerns peoples lives.
Only after fully coloring the drawing did I realize I put Emison's left arm too far out, so it stayed.
I literally had to open Blender and look at the sky texture to do the background. I need to go outside more.

June 16 edit: I don't think I did Emison justice in this, I'm totally gonna draw him again

I think the whole thing should've been shifted up a bit, to show their shadow more, but it still looks pretty cool in my opinion :D

 

Can't think of a perfect title for this one, so I'll just do this…
Oh, also, this is not related to the last drawing in any way, Emison is for a whole other story that I probably won't make.

Spoiler: Wake

I was being a bit experimental, so there's definitely some parts of the drawing that are lacking, but I still like it as a whole.
My main nitpick is that the ambient colors (2 layers with 'soft light' mixing) just don't look quite right. The drawing is bland without them, bit it's a bit much with them. Oh well, I can tear this apart tomorrow once my eyes are fresh, and figure out what went wrong.

 

Not the most thing, but I'm tired.

Tried to draw a concept piece of an MC build idea for an SMP I'm on (yeah, yeah, I know), it's fine, didn't turn out the best, but it gets the point across, and I don't have enough time to make it better.

I'm gonna be going on a family vacation, so don't expect any drawings next week. I've been getting pretty tired, so I think a lil breath of fresh air, and not carpal tunnel, will do good for my art. Cya then!

I was actually struggling to think of something to draw for today, when I saw something about Noelle in the Weird Route, and I was like, 'Wait a minute, I can milk this.'

 

Because of plans with friends and stuff, I have no idea if I'll be able to get together an art piece today. This isn't a definite no, I just don't wanna leave ya hanging if I don't manage. Cya either later today or Monday!
