Let me just say this. This is NOT normal for a 12 year old kid, but then again this is the internet. People say the same shit, to BOTH genders, regardless of age or any other factor. People say nasty shit just because they're assholes and there's no repercussions for them on the internet. But stop making this from a EVERYONE'S problem to a woman's problem. We all face nasty sexually charged shit on the net, and if you make it a womans problem, then guys who face this will face EXTRA harassment if they vent about it on the net. I do agree that the parent's should punish him, but this is NOT a broad definition. Assholes will be assholes and dicks, cause they're assholes and dicks and this is especially true on the net, since there's no repercussions of any sort.

The point I was trying to make was that you shouldn't make EVERYONES problem into a WOMANS problem.

I've seen 8 year olds say some pretty fucked up shit, but you also gotta take into consideration his background and who he hangs around with as he probably picked this shit up from his friends or brother/sister(s) that or he just had the "talk" in school and thinks hes ascended beyond average human intelligence and thinks he's hot shit. But the point I'm trying to make here is from my own personal experience with toxic communities, I've seen kids around 9 - 13 years old talk about... detailed descriptions of stuff that would prob get be banned on the forums, and from what I've seen in this video, half of the stuff he's saying he probably doesn't even know or understand, he's just saying it to make him sound cool. Don't get me wrong, what he did and said was flat out perverted, disgusting and uncalled for and I do see how Pokimane could have felt uncomfortable in that situation, but you gotta remember, he's still just a kid, and probably doesn't realize that what he's saying is impacting Pokimane in a negative way. I am by no means trying to defend him, but the fact that people, like Youtubers are making this sound like a bigger deal than it really is, is just stupid.

But my last point is, is that some parents don't give a fuccckk about what their kids watch or do on the internet. Take Jake Paul for example and his little fiasco in his neighborhood with his fans. The parents that brought the kids there had no idea who he was and what he did. Then one of the neighbors showed the parents some of Jake's videos and they were appalled at his behavior and then wrote a formal apology to the neighbors for disturbing them and for not knowing better as well as prohibiting their kids from watching Jake Paul. As I said before, what you say online stays online and once that's out there for the world to see, you've basically ended any form of a future career for yourself. However, I will say this in the parent's defense, the internet to them is still new to them, so some parents probably don't know how big and powerful the internet is on the grand scale of things, but on the flip side, these people should know how large the internet is, as if they want their child to grow up safe and have a good career, they should atleast know the basic dos and don'ts of the internet as well as keeping an eye on them from time to time to make sure they aren't watching or doing... well talking about their imaginary love life with Pokimane.

I still stand by my point of this not being sexism or sexual harassment, its just some dumb kid who thinks he's cool.

As someone who is afraid to turn on the mic in Overwatch, and has quit ranked, I much prefer a “white knight” who thinks this is a girl’s problem than guys who think it’s nothing or “internet culture.” This is my opinion:

We’re talking PC gaming here. Even counting mobile games, guys still make up the majority of gamers. Few “white knights” will step in to help you. If it’s not being harassed with things like “why aren’t you on Mercy?”, “hey can you mercy” or even like “go back to the kitchen” it’s an almost constant “iS tHaT a GrIL GaMuR? *muffled laughing*” every single match. Sometimes everyone will just go silent for a moment.

There was a large discussion on the reddit OW thread when a similar video started circulating and the conclusion I agree with is this: guys get harassed in video games. They get called gay, retarded, no skill ect., sometimes without even doing anything to piss someone off. But rarely if ever do guys get harassed for simply being a guy in PC gaming. Harassment is not a common “cultural” thing, it’s usually only one or two people, and it is not an every match thing. But there are always three people who do nothing when it occurs. The only way we can stop any harassment towards either gender is for people to step in.
