I eat the food. I attempt to do what I did with Darx to the Innkeeper instead.

 

I'll follow if I'm done eating

 

While eating food, Darx is gaining courage to speak to Vitate later.

 

Realizing Vitiate is staring at him, the innkeeper turns his head to stare back at the monk. Looking directly through the man, the innkeeper tilted his head slightly, serious and unblinking. "Is there a problem?"

Getting a shiver down his spine, Vitiate turns his gaze to look at his food. Sate continues eating his apple. "I thought so."

As Deton gets up from his chair, the woman lifts a hand towards him. "No need. I'll only check the horses." Not waiting for an answer, Saraha left and closed the door behind her.

 

I'll sit back down and lean back in the chair ans sigh wait for a second and then do a quick count on how many crossbow bolts I have

Well... What can I say except I chase after him?
Try to grab the cloak? Its easier to grab that I believe. Keep in mind any liquids around though. Maybe I can use yhem to make this chase end quickly.

 

Currently, Deton has a total of 12 crossbow bolts. All have a steel tip.

As Wren turns the corner to chase after the man, the scenery suddenly changes.

Holding onto what he thought was one of the buildings, the cloaked boy tried to fight off the dizziness. A field empty of trees extended for kilometers from where he stood, the sun rising from behind the hills. Spinning around, Wren saw a few trees behind him, one of which he was using for balance. Letting go of it in a confused yelp, the boy sat down.

Looking straight ahead, Wren saw someone wave at him. A voice very similar to that of the man called. "Hey, come here, we've got stuff to talk about!"

 

Pich myself. That seems to be a common way to help dispell illusions. Maybe.
If nothing happens, get up and slowly approach him.
"What do you want?"
Does he still have my spear?

 

Then i just wait for her to come back

 

Rubbing off from the pinch he gave himself, Wren took a deep breath and headed towards the man.

As he walked up the hill the man waving at him from, the cloaked boy heard an answer to his question. "I mean, I did say I wanted to talk." Paying more attention, the boy sees the spear isn't with the man anymore. Patting his back, Wren sees the spear is back in place.

I'll wait for Kato's response for now.

Stop at spear range.
"What is it then?"

 

Without answering the boy's question, the man starts walking and makes a single gesture for Wren to follow him.
"Come, come, there are nicer places to talk about this kind of stuff."

 

I do minor maintenance on the machinery inside me.
"Soch'ek Mara, Manik Rens, Ok Frin." Infinity red, glow eye, flare power.
I say in the hopes of getting my eyes to turn red.
How the hell do I get this bracelet off?

 

"Just say it, I'm busy."

 

Fraise leaned back into his chair and played with jewels on his circlet, sighing as he looked around them,
"Should I consider taking those fairy tale books with us? Although, I doubt fairy tales would be the right word for them. They just seem quite enchanting to read, despite a dark aura looming over some of them. You think Saraha would notice?"

 

"I don't really see the point in taking them, but my guess would be 50/50 on her noticing"

As he gets up, Sate leaves his apple on the table and goes outside. A faint conversation can be heard by the two left on the table, although Vitiate is too busy poking his chest and causing small bruises in some areas. Fiddling with his fingers, Darx waits nervously in his seat, shooting a few glances towards the monk.

Opening the door and gesturing for the two to come, the innkeeper opens the door fully and wait for the pair to approach. Once they are close, he does a quick inspection. "Got everything?" Nodding, Darx confirms. Looking at Vitiate, Sate hands the man a normal shirt. "At least try to keep yourself to a standard."

Eyeing the two, the bartender gives a final warning. "Follow what the woman says, and don't try anything stupid. This is all in your best interest."

Still walking down the hill, the mysterious man vanishes from Wren's sight, although a hand passes around his shoulders and begins walking forward, bringing the boy alongside him.
"Say, it would be way better to discuss this over a cup of hot tea, aye? I feel like you hadn't had a proper breakfast yet." Before Wren can shoo the man off of him, he disappears with a blink of the cloaked boy's eye.

Now at the top of the hill, Wren sees the figure waving from below. "So? I do have a sneaking suspicion you would be interested in Aatsuran foods and drinks."

Back inside, the woman gives the two a dead-eyed stare. Turning to Fraise, who is reaching towards the books, Saraha makes a vague gesture with her head. "You can take them. I have finished reading them already. Now come, both."


Outside, a carriage led by two horses waited for the trio. An old man wearing all black led the animals. "Hop in, young ones! We're up for a ride I haven't seen since I was your age!" Still straight-faced, Saraha looked at the two. "He will take us to the border, and then another carriage will lead us to our destination. That is if the embassy gives us a permit."

With an open hand, she pointed to the street. "Lead the way, hm?"

 

Fraise tucked the books into his satchel, having too move a couple of things around as he stepped into the carriage. His eyes glanced at the stone still in his satchel and the Aatsuran sighed, settling himself down on the seat. After Fraise gave the caravan driver a brief overview of how we got from the embassy to Saraha's establishment, he took a moment to look around the caravan and see its details. He spoke out loud as he looked,

"I should add that I'm not so profound in the tongue of diplomacy. I'm more experienced with...well, a different language, if you will. Might I also ask, my dear Saraha, why is this embassy so interesting to you? I'm not expecting an answer, however, some context would be rather marvelous."

Fraise then took The Ikar: Volume 3 out of his satchel and decided to actually start at the beginning of the book this time. He thought he should at least give the book a proper chance rather than just mindlessly flip through it. If Saraha would speak to him, he'd just keep the book in his hands. If not, then he'd simply shrug his shoulders and open the book to the first tale.

Wait, did you try to retcon the machinery? Because it is rather important imo.
