Seear's Dance Rp [5/5]

He looks at the monk and gives a mysterious, almost creepy smile. "I'm the bartender."

 

"What are you?" I slide backwards off of my stool and prepare for melee combat, holding my glass as a makeshift weapon.
"I am the Serpent of Illiarel. I will swallow the world."

 

Walk over and point at a bag.
"I'll take a pack"

 

The man leans closer. "Yeah, go again. Serpent of Illiarel, tell me more about it." He seems to have ignored the whole ordeal the monk had made to get away from him. Sate seemed to have gone back to his thoughtful self. A few wrinkles were accentuated by his frown, too many for a man his age.

A bored-looking cashier looks at Wren, then back at the ants walking by the wood surface. "Go get it then."
Wren assumes that he should bring it to the cashier once he picks it up. Doing so, the man looks at the pack and backs at the cloaked one. "Two Copper Pieces." Handing them over to the cashier, Wren leaves.

Once bought, Wren stands outside of the store and looks around.

 

While Deton drank, Fraise stood up from the table. He decided to walk over to the books he spotted before Saraha entered. On the way to the table, he'd glance around to get a better look at the makeup of the room.

The room has the usual tavern configuration, with coloured bottles making dancing colours on the wood countertop in the dim candlelight. A few guillotine-style windows made of wood block the light from coming in, although the air still circulates in the ambient. There are about five tables in the establishment, each with three chairs.

Reaching out for the books, Fraise looks at the book covers for their names. Most are different editions of the tales of the Ikar, although there are two books about the geography of Colden and Opladyl. The Aatsuran gets startled by the sound of something being dragged on the second floor, probably the beds being pushed around. There is still plenty of time to take a look at the books.

The sun seems to be going down in the sky, although nowhere near setting yet. Wren checks the clock on the street, marking 16:44. There aren't many interesting buildings nearby, although the cloaked man remembers that the exit of Varla towards the West is reached by walking down the street for about fifteen minutes.

Wren can't see many inns in his immediate vicinity.

 

Fraise glanced between the three books and shrugged his shoulders, somewhat interested in their contents. He collected them and returned to the table, flipping The Ikar: Volume 2 book to a random page as he spoke,
"Well, I didn't expect myself to turn into a scholar. Perhaps a little bedtime reading won't hurt."

 

The book opens coincidentally in the start of Tale 74: The Kingdom's Herald.
Flipping through the book, Fraise concludes it's a rather small tale, with a few images of what he can only assume is the kingdom and battlefields.

The War was still nowhere near its end, and even with the death of Hulan and Helan, the twin empires of Myrel and Nyral kept pushing towards the frontier with Laht. The High General of Ithur had fallen ill of unknown disease, and with no one to lead the army, the kingdom slowly fell into decay. On his deathbed, the General begged for Ofitt to lead the kingdom, for there was no soldier as resolute as her. Denying, she said the task was something she was not prepared for, and would rather fall in battle than command the armies from the safety of a castle.

Predicting the soldier's response, the General asked for the woman to send a message regarding his death to Larel, their nearest ally, so that they could merge and continue fighting. Taking on the task, Ofitt left the room as soon as the High General perished. Carrying the letter inside her armour, the soldier headed towards the battlefield with no more than her standard armour and a simple longsword. Fighting through the hordes of enemies alongside Ithur's army, the battle wounds slowly tore her body, but her resilient mind turned down all healing in favour of completing her task. Upon reaching the Golden Roads, Offit stopped at a sage's house for three days, where she healed most of her wounds. On the fourth day, she left.

Nevertheless, she kept treading the Golden Roads that connected Ithur and Larel, stopping neither for sun or moonrise. At the sundown of the fifth day of travel, the soldier arrived at the gates of their ally. An enemy attack was occurring, and in her effort to help, Offit lost an arm and her vision. Bringing the beaten woman inside the gates, the guards informed the king about the presence of a soldier from Ithur. Meeting in person, the woman told the king about the death of the general and handed him the letter before collapsing.

Telling the dying soldier she would be remembered as an example of loyalty and made a hero, the king was surprised to see Offit shake her head. She said she was merely a herald, and died. I was one of the soldiers who brought her in that night, and will remember her story until my death.'

Although not what the Aatsuran was used to in the literature he read, Fraise took a few notes out off the book. He could only suppose Hyara's Particularity made her able to see someone's history, and that Offit was in possession of a rare one, probably Undying. Judging by the sounds, Saraha was still working on getting the rooms ready.

 

Since she's still not done with the rooms I'll look atound the room mainly looking for any hidden entrances because this place looks a little shady. If there's a carpet anywhere I'll check for a hatch under it and drag my hand across the walls to see if there is a gap that could be a door

 

Walking around the room for a solid few minutes and finding nothing, Deton begins brushing the walls with his hands. Asides from a few imperfections in the wood, it seems like this is an incredibly normal tavern. Going over to the door Saraha went through during their conversations, the man tried the doorknob. Locked.

It would seem this is a normal tavern structurally wise.

Wren had just gone into the market, Darx was standing there, pretty much all alone in the street. Wren is already out of the market as of right now

 

In that case back to the table

 

“Ah shit.” *said quietly*

Darx thinks, and then goes into the market

 

How far is the next city? (Time wise)
Start heading to the west, looking for an inn as I go.

 

As he looks around, Darx comes to the conclusion the market is well stocked on most items. It doesn't seem to have any type of food that would last a long time, though. A bored-looking cashier is the only person the silver-haired boy can see.

Next city is two days of travel on foot, and around a day on horse.

Walking down the streets what Wren can only assume are a few hundred meters, he begins looking more attentively for inns. There is one near the end of the block, named 'The Old Oak'.
