"Hm. You're staying in the same room. Two beds it is." She says while sipping her tea. "Now, do we have a deal?" The woman turns to Fraise, awaiting for his approval or handshake.

"Why not?"

I attempt to grab a drink from acrkss the bar making it fly into my hands, forgetting the bracelet.

Pain shoots up my arm.

"Ow."

 

The bartender picks up the glass and puts it on the table with Vitiate, chuckling lightly. "You know, you've got to learn how to use those legs of yours." Pulling a chair from the ones by the countertop, Sate sits down. "Say, tell me your story, yes? Unless you have something better to do at the moment." He opens his arms to give a shrug.

"I'm kind of interested in what you did to deserve that bracelet. More specifically, what led you to do what you did." Lifting his half-way full glass of cider, looking the monk through it. Putting it down on the table, he crosses his legs and puts an elbow on it, laying his chin on his closed fist. "Who are you, exactly?"

Should probably last you quite a while, given you shouldn't eat only jerky and that much salt would probably dry you up.

How much buisness is the stall getting?

 

I do update a lot of things, it's good to keep in check that one post in the first page where I list the dates of updates and what I added.

Not much, Wren would probably take about five minutes to pay it, at most.

 

"Now now, Deton. No need to act so defensive. I wouldn't mind sharing a bed with you, but if you insist. Indeed we have a deal. Thank you for the hospitality, we genuinely appreciate it."
Fraise extended his arm out to the woman after drinking the last of his tea.
"Oh, my apologies. What is your name?"

 

"Force of habit.

I'm a monk, head of the Korrest over in Illiarel. I was in town for the library, looking for a specific bit of knowledge. My head's been knocked so hard I forgot what it was at this point. Heard a scream and decided to travel over. Me being, y'know, magic and all, I basically teleported over to investigate. In layman's terms. Turned out to be a dead body smashed to death. I had my sword on me. Not exactly a good look to be standing over a freshly dead body with a sword as the commander of the guard comes in. Now, I didn't know she was the commander - what's her name? Raven? Ralen? Raalehn! Oh, yeah. Raalehn. And I assumed she had killed whoever it was that had just died, and the people wearing the same armor uniform was gang or criminal organization symbol. Got into a bit of a fight, used some magic that was a bit too strong. She thankfully didn't die. Otherwise I'd be in worse trouble. Big misunderstanding, you see, but I only found out afterwards."
I pause,
"You know where she lives? I probably owe her an apology."

 

Shaking the Aatsuran's hand, the woman nodded seriously. "Saraha. It will be my pleasure." Getting up, she leaves towards a staircase. "I will take care of your rooms now." Without any other words, she goes up the stairs silently. Alone again, Fraise and Deton have a chance of getting a better, more calm look at their surroundings now.

Chuckling openly at Vitiate's story, Sate finishes off his drink and lays the glass upside down on the table. "No need to embellish the truth. You can just tell me what happened."
He raises a finger. "Or. Even better. Let me reformulate my question. Who were you?"

 

How bad is my headache at this point? Has it recovored to the point that i can use Manipulation?

 

Not fully, no. You could probably try to find who she is, but the second use of it would probably strain you too much.

 

Alright i'll just wait and drink for her to co.e back and save the use for later

 

I pause,
"Was?"
I pause again.
"Harbinger of Chaos. Keeper of Korrest. Serpent of Illiarel. Archwizard of the Yadakk Ritualists. Commander of the Sky. Just a few months, I won a competition for magic. Lightning casting. Nearly welded all the stadium seats together. If I tried, I may well be able to destroy a city. I was kicked out of the Mashaak Monks in the Illiarel Libraries. I'm.. how old now? 134? 131? 132? I forget after so long. In my prime, I was once able to bring an entire fort down with just my Voice. So long ago, though. Alas, I am now a was."

 

Nodding, Sate looks off at the floor, with a somewhat sad smile. "Although I don't know what to think about the 'destroying a city' part, I know what it is to not be what you were." Letting his shoulders curve under what he makes seem like a giant weight, Sate sighs. His voice sounds sad, nostalgic.
"I used to venture around, I did some heroic things in my life. But now, I too am nothing more than a shadow of my former self." Closing his hand, the man looks at the shadow being cast by it.

Then, the man frowns. Straightening his posture, he looks at Vitiate with a thoughtful expression. "The name of Serpent is quite familiar. Tell me more about it."
