Secret Nether World Portal?!

So I was off in the Canyon of the Lost minding my own biz until I came across this place...
So as you can see, there is a stream of water coming from the top of the cave. I deliberately swam up that stream for exploration purposes. As soon as I reach the top, I am teleported to the Nether PVP World.
A little bit strange, but I still wanted to share this with you guys to see if there is anything in deeper meaning to this. Chat amongst yourselves! :)

Either a builder dun goofed or you're magic

 

Theory: there was an end portal at the top of the waterfall used for lighting. End portals take you to the nether for no apparent reason. I doubt he/she expected anyone to swim upwards, but who knows what people explore these days?

 

I've been there before and know there's an end portal up there.
