Secondary Weapons(?)

if possible, maybe you could use your off hand to hold a secondary weapon in 1.9 and onward, like a small dagger for archers, a shield for warriors, a talisman for mages to boost spell effectiveness, and to be able to duel wield dagger for assassin, this would mean having to either re-work spells or to get rid of them altogether which sort of negates the whole talisman thing. but who knows, maybe there is a way that I'm not thinking off

 

1) It would screw the spell system pretty badly if it were a actual weapon
2) I 99.999% sure that the owners want the spells to stay...
3) It took them forever to update to 1.8 its gonna take forever to update to 1.9 too
