SPOILER Sealed Letters

With the recent removal of Relics in-game, the question ought to be brought up about the continued canonicity of the Sealed Letters. These rare and cryptic messages were obtainable through the 8 hidden relics and told parts of a story about Bob and his pets.

However, with all of the relics having been removed, are the letters still obtainable? Are they still canon with the rest of the lore after the recent retcons? If so, how do they fit in with the new lore about Bob?

So relics were actually removed? I've been hunting all day for the relic wand alter.... this explains a lot.

 

Yea, I think half of what I know isn't canon anymore

 

I would be 50/50 on this. We still have some references in other places such as an item named after Nilrem in Nessak and the unfinished letter at Gateway Island, but that’s it. Given the previous revamps, I don’t think they are canon anymore until proven otherwise.

I doubt they will clear up any lore though.

 

They should've kept the relics but re-purposed them to be discoveries or something important gameplay-wise.

 

They were so out of place that they practically needed to remove them for the actual discoveries.

 

or they could've just given them lore. now the kraken island (unofficial name) and the tree island don't have any purpose besides crappy lootchests, although at least tree island got a makeover: kraken island is just stupid now, having a puzzle which doesn't even do anything.
