Art Sea Salt Icecream-chan

It may come as a shock to many, but I've managed to do a piece of art that isn't (fully) related to Homestuck!

With the trend of "-chans" going around, where any object is turned into an anime girl equivalent (beginning with Earth-chan, as well as the other planets in our solar system) I thought I'd make my own. However, I'm far from a manga or anime artist, so it doesn't look as authentic.

I had an idea one day to make the "Sea Salt Icecream" from the Kingdom Hearts series into a -chan. After planning it out for a while on how she would look, I decided to just grab a piece of paper and my trusty pencil, sharper and eraser and start drawing her. This is the result:

Forewarning: This was my first full-body character drawing, and I know it looks pretty bad. However, for my first drawing in this size, I think it came out well. I'm hoping to further draw characters like this to improve my overall style.

I erased and redrew a lot of stuff past the shoulders with my original drawing, as I'm inexperienced with it. It took me a while before I got everything how I wanted it. However, I never gave up or restarted, I stuck to it.

Colouring Sea Salt Icecream-chan took me about 2 days, spending multiple hours each colouring session. Since I had the opportunity to, I changed and redrew a few parts of her, just to make her look a bit better. I couldn't make any major changes, but I tried my best to fix a few flaws.

It may be surprising to see Doki Doki Literature Club characters mixed in with my list of reference images, but they actually came in as a massive help whilst drawing past the head and shoulders. It might be a little easier to see the influence they had after looking at them more closely.

Oh well thats nice. I'm trash at art myself, So I can't give any helpful criticism, other than saying that it is better than anything I could do. Good work.

Tbh i dont like these art styles but im not saying these look bad. I just tend to favor realism more...

 

yeah i think the same it's not bad but there is something off about it i'm not a super duper leonardo da vinci level artist yet so i don't know how to explain it
