"I'd try to get someone else to spread the information, somebody who could get it done without it ever being linked to me"

 

As Ky went to collect the metal for the ingot, the sounds of stomping could be heard through the door. Boots thumped on the wood as his door was suddenly flung open, his grandfather at the doorway,

"I need you for a moment. Come with me."

Kindra gasped and beamed with excitement, a couple of the students turning around to cast concerned looks or glares. She sheepishly chuckled as they resumed their conversations,

"Hehehe. Umm, let's see! My favorite color's dark purple. It's the color of one of my favorite dresses when I was a child, even if it's been so long ago. I guess I kinda spoiled this with Lys this morning, but I'm an only child. My parents are tailors here in Kelas. Kinda weird, I know, but it doesn't bother me so much. Sometimes I wonder how different siblings in my life would change me... But anyway! I barely got into the institution my first year, but thanks to Grelo, Junva, and even a bit of Lys, I climbed the ranks pretty well! The boys were also cool to meet too, despite some past drama..."

Kindra's smiled slowly dampened to a straight line, glancing to her side as she sighed softly.

"...Do you know someone like that? Or better yet...can you do it?"

A flash of lightning and echo of thunder slowly roared in the distance. Suddenly, rain slammed into the windows in pounding sheets.

 

"I'm just a waiter so i definetly can't, I'd suggest checking at the Goldenberry you might find someone"

 

"Are you okay? You don't need to talk about that if you don't want." Tae put a hand on one of the girl's shoulders. "I hope it's all better now."
The woman keeps an eye on Kindra, worried about her. "Come, let's get some food for you as well."

 

Or we can do that.
Give a nod and place the ingot down, before following.

 

"I suppose so...Mmmph, I'm worried about Jonathan. The storm's here, however, I worry about him. Hopefully he's still fine."

The storm continued to rage outside, slightly growing in power. Wind began picking up, causing the water to crash harder against the window.

Kindra sighed and nodded her head, trying to regain her smile. She grabbed Tae's hand and squeezed lightly,

"It's okay, just that one of them betrayed me a few years ago. I've moved on, but I know Lys still has a grudge against them. Perhaps one day soon, I'll tell you the full story. Until then, I agree, let's go."

The duo eventually moved through the line, grabbing food to fill their trays. As Kindra filled a small bowl with various fruits and stepped out of line, she turned to Tae,

"Maybe Lys is at the table already. I hope she doesn't start a fight today, she's known to start a commotion, especially with the fire circle students."

Ky placed the ingot down and followed his grandfather, eventually making his way to the front door hallway. The group of people he stumbled across returning from The Illusion were standing there, their expressions neutral. His grandfather began speaking as rain began to pound harshly against the windows and cottage,

"These paranoid people believe of this rumor of an evil approaching Seston. I mentioned you stumbling across something unpleasant and now they've spewing distressing havoc. Please, tell them they're being ridiculous."

 

"Trust me the old man is strong, if someone should be worried it's the thing that he went after for, at least i think he went after something" i look outside and seeing the storm i say "Looks like we'll be stuck here for a while, so might as well make the most of it" i pull out one of my daggers and start playing the knife game

 

I don't know what's even going but but-
"You're being ridiculous," I say, with the straightest face I could manage.

 

I don't have any questions, so I'll patiently wait some more to kill time

 

Filling a bowl with various types of vegetables and fruits, Tae put her arm around Kindra's shoulders. "Alright, let's hope so." She says, attempting to comfort the normally happy girl.
"What do you think of Earth magic?" The woman asks, trying to put the subject away.

 

Wait what is happening again since alerts went Thanos snapped

Beci sighed as she looked outside, shaking her head,

"This just doesn't feel right...Something's wrong-"

A loud thump could be heard above them. Beci witnessed several roof tiles fall to the ground in front of her. She turned to Kollin,

"...That's not normal, right?"

One of the members looked extremely surprised, stuttering as he spoke,

"B-But that's inconceivable! C-Clearly you sh-should have seen s-something or at least w-witnessed! Strange sh-shadows lurking in the alleyways, noises th-that almost sound diabolical, just the-"

Someone from the group placed their hand on the man's shoulder, trying to soothe their concerns. Ky's grandfather arched an eyebrow, as if visibly saying, "Well?"

Frozlar spent some time just idling sitting at his desk or readying his supplies for class. He could hear someone setting their stuff down to his left and when he glanced in that direction, the half automation boy began rummaging through his backpack. He looked over his shoulder at Frozlar and immediately snapped his head back to what he was digging for when they made eye contact.

Kindra began mixing her fruits in the bowl as the duo walked, a bit happier in her tone,

"Uhh, I thiiiiiink it sounds cool, but I didn't really feel any big connection to it growing up and at the placement exams. Yeah sure, the history's interesting, but do you know how many times I tried lifting some stones from the ground and flinging them at a target? I could've just drawn a rune that sent the stones flying!! Ugh, it's sooo weird, but hey! If you like it, then maybe you can actually flip the roles and tutor your elders!!"

The girl chuckled and flipped her hair, a couple of fire circle guys eyeing Kindra as the duo walked past the table. A shout could be heard a little bit ahead of them,

"Mind you own business, creeps!!"

Kindra sighed as the two girls sat down at a table mixed with lower and upperclassmen from Grelo's. Amongst them were Lysanna, Nyxio, Benet, Dougal, and a couple of other lower classmen she's yet to properly meet. Kindra shot a quick glare at Lys, but a small smile was still on her face,

"You know we can fend for ourselves, right?"

"They're gross! Don't bother with them Tae, those boys suuuuuuuuck and I speak from personal experience."

"No it's not" i take my daggers and re silk them real quick waiting to see what will happen

 

Shake my head.
"I saw nothing of the sort."

I can't remember if I did or not, but that's my answer either way

 

As Kollin spinned his silk onto the daggers, a couple more roof tiles fell down onto the ground, the rain continuing to pour harder. Beci backed away from the window and
approached the man,

"What...What are you doing? You don't think you have to actually...fight something, right?"

A moment later, hoof like sounds like a trotting horse could be heard above them. The clicking sounds descended down towards them and a brief silence later, the landing of the hooves could be heard from outside the cottage. Beci was too far away from the window to get any sort of visual.

Ky's grandfather crossed his arms, a glare on his face as he spoke,

"Is that all? Take your leave."

The group murmured to themselves as they left the smithy, the door slamming shut right behind them. Rubbing his face, Ky's grandfather looked at a window above the door,

"Storm's not letting up any time soon. Stay in your room, I don't want you roaming around here and causing a ruckus. I'll be in my office."

With that, Ky was left staring at his grandfather as he walked up the stairwell.

 

Tae put her bowl down rather angrily on the table, sighing deeply. "Do they ever stop being idiots?"
Turning to the fire circle students, the woman waited to see if any of them would make eye contact so she could give them the finger.

 

I put my finger to my mouth to hush her and sneak to the window to look

 

At times, I wish I knew what was going on...
Let out a sigh and go back to my room. I'll get an early rest today.

 

Try avoiding eye contact with the boy as well, for now

I wonder when's lunch... I think.
