{rp} Tysra's Aftermath [6/6]

"I suppose I don't know the answer to that. Short, I suppose."

Beci looked between the two, slightly confused as to what was going on.

Kindra jumped towards Tae and hugged her for a few moments,

"Ahh, that was so awesome! You showed those fireballs who's boss!!"

Lysanna sighed and pulled Kindra off Tae, a small chuckle escaping her lips,

"Miss Dahran needs to go to the recovery room, remember? Let's go."

The trio collected their belongings and Lysanna led the way to the recovery room. A pair of footsteps could be heard behind them and Nyxio popped up beside Tae,

"Glad you knocked one of 'em out for me. I was almost worried you'd be toast. Literally."

 

"Wiered person in an alley told me the worlds about to end by a dark propecy, then got killed by shadow monsters told me to look for allies, so i came to you"

 

"Yeah yeah.
I'll head to the workshop for a bit, there's a few things I want to do."
And the workshop is inside... Right? :/ If not, ignore above lines and just go to my room.

 

Smiling towards the boy and waving her hand dismissively, the woman said in a most sarcastic tone of voice. "Pffft what? Naah, totally had it under control."
She gestured towards her slightly burnt clothing. "Totally. But yeah, I did show 'em."

 

Jonathan sighed and shook his head, beginning to move past Kollin and Beci,

"Of course. I mean, it has to happen eventually. Stay inside with Beci, I'll be back soon enough."

(yes, the workshop's inside.)
Ky made his way to his workshop, the room rather dark despite there being a few lit lamps inside. Looking out the window, he could still see the swirling dark skies looming above Seston.

Nyxio chuckled and patted Tae on the back,

"I'm glad you still have two feet. Just wanted to pop by and say congrats. I'm off to lunch with Benet, I'll catch you guys later."

Turning around, Nyxio began walking away from the girls as Lysanna pushed the recovery room door open. Inside, a couple of beds with light blue blankets stood on the opposite side of them with several tall windows above them, sunlight beaming inside. On the sides of the room, cabinets and drawers labeled with medical items lined the walls with a sink to the group's left and several bookshelves and potted plants on their right. Lysanna began walking to one of the cabinets while Kindra plopped herself onto one of the beds, patting another one beside her,

"These beds are the coziest things everrrrr. You can practically sleep your life away in these..."

 

"Fine you probably know best, but If you don't return in 5 hours I'll go looking for you"

 

Jonathan growled and moved past the two, stepping outside and drawing his hood over his head. Beci sighed and closed the door behind him,

"Dark prophecies? Spirits? I was just hoping it was a summer storm, but I suppose something more sinister's approaching soon. What should we do, Kollin?"

 

Sitting on the bed and yawning, the woman felt the adrenaline wearing down, and so some pain kicked in. "Dude, no doubt. I'd easily spend all day here."
Tae layed on the bed, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. "Yep. I'm not getting up." She said with a laugh.
"I should read those books whenever I have free time, they seem pretty interesting." The woman said, her eyes still closed.

 

"The old man is usually right about stuff so for now let's just wait, besides you wanted to talk to me about something yesterday"

 

Lysanna rummaged through the cabinets and grabbed a nearby basket, filling it with a tube of ointment, a roll of bandages, a damp rag, and several small stones. She carried the basket over to Tae's bed and sat on the edge of it,

"Eh, some of them are fine. They're mainly about the healing potential runes have. Thankfully, I read a few perfect for this situation."

She took out a pen from her pocket and traced a curvy rune on one of the stones. Tossing her pen aside, Lysanna took out the bandage roll and ointment as she spoke,

"That fireball barely splashed over you, so I'll treat your legs too rather than just your arms. Roll up your sleeves, let's see how bad it is."

"Ah, yes! Coincidentally, I finally managed to find what Jonathan was asking for. However, I needed an outside opinion about it, so I thought about asking you. You were the only one I hadn't known from my circle of merchant acquaintances, so I thought you'd be a neutral and unbiased position. Is that fine with you?"

 

"I'm all ears"

 

Sitting up on the bed, Tae pulled up her sleeves. She knew she probably tightened the straps of the gauntlet tightly, but other than that, she didn't know what was the situation of her arms. She also pulled up the legs of her pants up to her knees, and sighed before looking up at Lysandra.
"All good doc?" She asked.

 

Beci motioned for them to sit in the living room of Jonathan's cottage. It was fairly furnished, with several maroon lounge chairs and a dark green sofa all surrounding a brick fireplace on the wall. As Beci started a small fire in the fireplace, she sat down and took a sip of her tea before speaking,

"I was asked by Jonathan to look into how Lady Paris got into such a high seat of influence and power within Seston. Going through her office at the right times and asking the right people led me to speculate several ideas. The main one being that she became a puppeteer and controlled several merchants and kingdom officials, threatening them to do her bidding or else be exposed of events in their past. I hadn't known the woman for long, but she hadn't come across as harsh or manipulative. Do you know anything about her, Kollin?"

Lysanna pursed her lips and examined Tae's arms and legs. Kindra rolled over to face Tae and shook her head as she looked over her,

"It's not so bad! You can tell where the flames got to your skin, but I don't think you'll lose any arms or legs. Plus, Lysanna's treated burn marks before. Remember a couple of years ago where Dougal got into a fight with one of the fire circle kids?"

Taking the rune into her hand, Lysanna pressed the stone against Tae's left arm, a cooling sensation washing over it. Tae sighed in relief as she felt some of the tension fade away and the smooth fabric of the bandage roll wrapping around her arm. Lysanna began pressing the rune against Tae's legs as she spoke,

"Dougal really had the audacity to ask me to heal him. Do I look like an earth circle student to you? Ugh, he's just lucky that Nyxio's childish expressions somehow convinced me otherwise. Oh hey, speaking of earth circles, I heard you did pretty good n the earth magic portion of the entrance exam, Tae. Are you thinking about attending those lectures too?"

 

"Let us wait for a moment before proceeding. I may be unable to do anything if someone were to bump into us." Silva says, "But what is this induction ceremony that you speak of?"

 

"She has some ties wiht Lord Harto(thats his name right) I belive, but that's all i know. You'd probably know more about that then me though"

 

Hilda sighed and leaned against the crate as she sat down. She covered her mouth as she yawned softly before speaking,

"Induction ceremonies are mainly for Ozvio nobility that love this kingdom's dumb academy. It's all about showering people with praise about how successful, prosperous, or other fake compliments that they come up with. It's all so dumb..."

Silva could practically see the flustered frustration from Hilda as she took in several deep breaths after her small rant.

"Indeed, Lord Harto is a puppet to Lady Paris. I don't know the reasons why, however. I tried conversing with him earlier today on means of how to reach a compromise, but he wouldn't hear of it. In any case, I wanted to ask you this. Should I expose Lady Paris to the people of Seston, even if it costs me my job with her...or even my life?"

 

"Expose her, yes. But it doesn't have to cost you your job or life if you can get the right people to spread the infromation"

 

"If I had the time, yeah. I mean, more knowledge is always good." She said, passing a hand over the bandages in her arms. She then looked at Lysanna and back at Kindra.
"You think I can attend to those lessons any time soon? I mean, I feel well enough to do so."

 

"I see." Silva says, before remaining silent and watching the crowd disperse.

 

Beci turned her head away from the fireplace towards Kollin, a confused yet hopeful look on her face,

"What do you mean by that...?"

Suddenly, a loud strike of thunder roared through the air, causing the hanging chandelier above the duo to sway slightly. Beci looked rather alarmed now as she looked outside,

"There's not even a drop of water outside yet! What kind of summer storm is this?!"

Lysanna shrugged her shoulders as she painted Tae's burn mark with the ointment. Kindra rolled herself up in the blankets and turned herself into a blanket burrito as she looked upside down at Tae,

"Well, we don't usually hang out with the earth circle students. Everyone's kinda cliquey here, ourselves included. IF you did so well, then you should totally go for it! We'll still be your best friends, right Lys?"

After placing the final bandage wraps on Tae, Lysanna carried the basket of medical items back to the cabinet,

"I guess...Psh, yeah, what Kindra said. Of course we will."

Hilda stood up and seemed to be back to her regular self, her angry expression now a bit more somber. She turned to Silva since they weren't moving yet,

"Hey, fun question. Do you wanna stay at my house tonight? I know you're like, the Wise Man of the Forest or whatever your title is, but come on! You can at least spend a night in a house that has more than one room in it."
