Kollin throws one of his daggers at the guard, attempting to cripple him,

The dagger slashes Guard A's leg, earning a cry of pain from him. However, he still manages to stay on his feet. [Guard A: -3 HP]
Kollin twirled his second dagger in his hand and threw it at the same guard,

Successfully hitting the guard again, Kollin pulls back his daggers. [Guard A: -3 HP]

The two guildmembers both began to rush at Guard A, seemingly doing a duo attack,
Members A & B Pair Up Attack: 1-19 = Fail / 20-89 = Success / 90-100 = Critical Success ||||||||| Result = 39
Barely managing to block Guard A's counterattacks, the guildmembers finished Guard A. [Guard A: DOWN]

Guard B drew out two small tomahawks from her belt and sent them flying at Member A,

Guard B Second Attack: 1-29 = Fail / 30-89 = Success / 90-100 = Critical Success ||||||||| Result = 54
Both axes flew through the air and slashed Member A severely. Member A forced herself to kneel on the ground as she felt her blood seep through her clothes. [Member A: -6 HP]

The Head Guard rushed forward and slashed her sword at Member B!!

She managed to slash Member B's sword out of her way and bashed him on the chest with the hilt of her sword. [Member B: -3 HP]

The first round flew by as Tae watched her future classmates draw. The winner, who she noticed was the boy named Dougal, looked rather smug as he approached one of the other students,

"Guess who won~. What did we bet on, Klause? Three gold?"

Klause rolled his eyes and fished out three gold pieces,

"Whatever, Dougal. We've yet competed against each other."

Dougal raised an eyebrow and they both chuckled, heading back to the spectator area. Benet whispered something in Nyxio's ear and Nyxio nodded quite enthusiastically. Benet turned to the audience,

"Why don't we let some of the new students duke it out?"

To Tae's surprise, Kindra poked her shoulder and whispered quietly in her ear,

"Tae! You should totally join this round!!"

Walking inside the home, Ky looked around him as he kept a close eye on his grandfather. It was more lavishly decorated, tiling and wallpapers all over the place with furniture, paintings, and other sorts he'd find in a noble's home. Ky could hear footsteps both in front and above him as the host led him and his grandfather to a dining area. Servants were preparing food and the host sat at the head of the small table,

"Allow me to introduce myself to your partner here. Lord Feo, a prominent merchant within the lands of Seston. You must have some potential and maybe even talent if you've stumbled across the blacksmith here. In any case, please, settle down! Who can work on an empty stomach?"

Some servants began to place plates of food on the table. Ky has to admit, the food did look rather wonderful.

Silently leading Hilda with him, Silva attempts to move them out of the boar's path. After a couple of steps, the boar jerks its head up and screams a shrill cry, leaping to look at them once again and charges at the duo!! Recalling a spell from his witchcraft spellbook, Silva feels dark energy coating his hand and sends a blast of arcane energy at the boar! Hilda's scream pierced the growing night sky as the magical energy washed over the area,

Arcane Blast: 1-39 = Fail / 40-99 = Success / 100 = Critical Success ||||||||| Result = 41

The arcane energy collided against the boar, causing it to growl and stomp furiously. [-2 MP] He could feel the concealment magic slowly losing its potency as if the magic was being sapped away from him and Hilda. [Enchanted Boar: -3 HP]

Hilda felt something tough yet smooth at her feet and looked down, seeing a sizeable rock before her. She slowly picked it up, still clutching Silva's cloak. The boar crouched low as if anticipating an attack.

Picking up the two Dented Metal Scraps, Lux began his repairing attempts as a sunset hung over Wynvia's docks,

To Lux's surprise, he managed to fix up one of the dented pieces and turned it into a Small Metal Scrap. Although he had to scrap some of its material, the piece would still work for his kettle helmet. He moved on to the second dented piece,

Second Repair Attempt: 1-59 = Fail / 60-100 = Success / X = Critical Success ||||||||| Result = 47
Unfortunately, for this dented piece of metal, Lux couldn't seem to repair its worn state. The metal felt weak, rust was still coated around it, and it looked even worse than before. Lux decided to toss it aside, thinking somebody would eventually want it. Nonetheless, he suspected he had enough metal scraps to create his helmet.

Frozlar glanced at the clock that hung over his bedroom door, reading 8:22 AM. Tossing his sheets aside, he barreled down the stairwell and entered the living room, his mother apparently bustling between the living room and the kitchen. As Frozlar started making breakfast, his mother finally glanced over to him,

"Oh, Frozlar! I was about to go wake you up. We'll leave in about ten minutes with the carriage, so please don't waste any time getting ready! What else should I pack for you..."

His mother was seen putting small notebooks and other school supplies in a backpack she must've bought earlier this morning.

 

Alright time to make the kettle helmet

 

I run at guard B stabbing then in the joints of armor if they have armor. If guard B goes down I stand in a defensive position infront of the head guard to prevent him from getting to member A

 

As night began to draw over Wynvia, Lux continued crafting his kettle helmet. He forged the metal pieces to fit his head and continued the process for the next hour or so. Eventually, he stood back and marveled at the helmet before him.

Item Acquired: Kettle Helmet ~ It keeps your head safe from things falling or slashing at your head! [+4 HP]

Kollin rushed forwards at Guard B and slashed at her with his dagger, aiming for her less armored shoulders,

Guard B easily deflects Kollin's attack, using the moment to run back to the Head Guard. Kollin was slightly confused for a moment until he heard several more pair of footsteps behind them. Turning around, he saw the rest of his guild behind him, including Chrysa. Chrysha called out to the Head Guard,

"Enough!! You'll lose this battle. Take your injured back before we truly send them to the grave."

The Head Guard spat at them as Guard B helped Guard A up, sending a glare over the entire group of members as she slowly stepped back,

"Seston won't forget this! I hope you all rot in your filthy alleyways!!"

With that, the guard patrol swiftly left the scene and a few guildmates tended to the injured members. Chrysha turned to several of the elite members,

"We must leave while we still can. Take the injured to Aplia's, she has the resources they need. The rest of you! To Goldenberry!!"

The elite members lead a small party with the injured towards this Aplia while the rest moved out to Goldenberry.

I start heading back to goldenberry

 

Alright equip the helmet and head out but before that check how much money I have so I can buy food

 

"Thanks, mom. I'll go change, in a sec--"

I rush back to my room, wearing my usual outfit with the hoodie I picked out yesterday. Then walk back down.

"Ready, mom. Oh, did you pack a lunch for me?"

 

"Sure, I just don't think I'll bet anything. I don't have much to spare y'know." She says in a joking tone, poking Kindra's ribs with her elbow. Then, twirling her chisel once more, she stretches her arms and walks forward a bit.
"Good luck to me."

 

Silva takes a step forward, and stamps his staff on the ground in an attempt to shoo the boar away.
(Quick question, is it possible to transfer mana between people? Like, is that something witchcraft can do?)

 

I have no idea what the proper thing to do here is.
Um. For now, I guess I'll just follow after my grandfather. If he sits down, I'll sit next to him. If he starts to eat, I'll eat as well.
Oh, but don't do any talking unless spoken too. I think that was a big thing that was mentioned before.

 

Following the group of guild members back to Goldenberry, Kollin processed the brawl he had encountered. He had never fought against actual Seston guards, but he knew they weren't an easy bunch to take on. Reaching the tavern, the members swiftly filed inside and circled around Chrysha,

"That was too close for comfort. We'll have to lay low for a while before we start raids again. For now, everyone, get some sleep."

Tossing the kettle helmet on, Lux counted a total of 5 G as he stepped outside. The evening seemed to have just settled in Wynvia and he began making his way to a small market area near the docks. It mainly consisted of fish and meat stalls, but Lux still spotted fruit and bread stalls sprinkled down the pathway.

"Of course, Frozlar! How could you manage to survive without food? In any case, I suppose we should take our leave."

Frozlar followed his mother out to the carriage parked right beside their home. It had a fairly simple design of wood and metal, but with slightly more details compared to public carriages seen in Kelas. Taking a seat near the window, Frozlar looked out at the passing buildings and people as they made their way further into the city. He never truly saw this in-depth part of the city before, surprising him. Eventually, the carriage stopped in front of a couple of brick buildings, steam rising above them. Frozlar and his mother exited the carriage and a couple of students glanced at Frozlar's direction. The vast majority though were simply heading inside as if it were any other normal day. His mother turned to him,

"Alright deary, be good! I don't want any complaints on your first day. I've placed your schedule inside your backpack along with your lunch, a couple of notebooks, and some pens. Have fun!"

Kindra laughed and the audience cheered as the new students walked towards their selected tile. Benet raised an eyebrow as Tae settled herself down and Tae seized the moment to quirk an eyebrow at him. She wasn't going to pass off this kind of opportunity. Tae took a moment to look around at her fellow competitors. Surprisingly enough, there were about eight or so students in this round. Benet cleared his throat,

"Alright! That'll be our first round of fresh blood. Any bets?"

Several upperclassmen shouted their calls at Benet,

"Four gold on Ciara!"

"Two for Ocatavio! What?! Better safe than sorry!"

"Five for Tae."

Tae's eyes shot to the direction of that call and she was surprised that Lysanna made that bet. She drew a deep breath and cleared her mind as Benet turned back around towards them,

"Ready...sketch!!"

Tae's chisel and hammer moved fluidly across the tile as she drew the rune. Cheers and shouts rang in the sky, but she focused on her rune. She heard a couple of people finishing, causing Tae to work even faster. Eventually, she finished and sighed in relief as she finished fifth. The last person growled and stood up, some laughter coming from the audience,

"How'd you draw the rune wrong Vina?!"

"I don't wanna talk about it!!!"

As the competition continued, Tae seemed to have picked up the knack of working under the crunch of time. It eventually came down between her and a boy with electric yellow hair, almost glowing in the dark. He turned to his right and snarled at Tae as Benet whispered with the rest of the students a plan for the rune,

"How're you still here? You barely manage to stay in the middle of the pack, scrapping at least a second a couple of rounds ago."

(Transferring mana would most likely fall under witchcraft. So yes.)
The thump of the staff resonated loudly throughout the forest. The boar snarled and took a few steps forward before Silva's ears quirked up as Hilda whispered something under her breath. A moment later, she threw the stone in her hands at the boar, a dull yellow light surrounding it.
Sturdy Gust: 1-49 = Fail / 50-100 = Success / X = Critical Success ||||||||| Result = 62

The rock smacked the boar's face and a gust of wind raced through the forest. Startled from the rock and wind, the boar screeched once more and ran into the thicket of the forest, apparently done with its confrontation. Hilda sighed as the boar's footsteps grew softer in the distance, [Enchanted Boar: MIA] [-3 MP]

"That was close...I was surprised that even worked, to begin with."

Ky's grandfather took a seat at the table and looked over the food. He grabbed a plate and began filling it. Ky decided that if he was eating, then so should he. After a few moments of eating, Lord Feo turned to Ky,

"So, Ky was it? How do you like your time underneath your grandfather? I'm sure it must be interesting at least."

 

I'll head back home, if i get there without any interuptions I'll light a candle trying to make the envelope a little bit seethrough to read what's inside

 

How much for a salmon?

 

"Yeah, mom. Goodbye."

I pull the hood over my head and enter the school.

 

Leaning closer to him and putting the back of her hand to the side of her mouth, Tae whispered to the blonde. "You know, my secret is..."
Waiting a couple of seconds, she goes back to her normal position and gives him a playful wave. "Nah, I'm kidding, I have no idea either. Good luck to you tho! May the best win, right?"
The woman extends her hand for a handshake.

Silva renews the concealing rune he placed earlier.
"I did not know you were capable of using magic." Silva says, "Regardless, we ought to rest here for brief moment or so."

 

Keep it nice and simple, and don't want to offend anyone. At worst, I would be considered quiet and straightforward. Maybe.
Stop eating for a moment.
"It's great."
Wait a few more moments afterwards. If nothing is said to me, then I continue eating.

Kollin eventually made his way back to Goldenberry and went into his room. He lit a nearby candle and attempted to squint through the envelope to read the letter. Unfortunately, the material of the envelope was somewhat rough and the manilla color opaque in the candlelight. If he wanted to read what this envelope had inside, he'll have to break the seal open.

Lux made his way over to one of the fish stalls and glanced over its selection, selecting a salmon. The fisherman glanced to her left as she saw him approaching,

"Hiya! Did you pick a salmon? That'll be 2 Gold!"

Frozlar stepped into the building and he was incredibly shocked at its interior. He naturally assumed its brick and metal design, but it also had a blazing quartz white contrast to it along with a similarly tiled roof. He looked around and saw crowds of students roam around the halls, some of them talking to each other,

"Who do you have for homeroom? I have Mr. Nevic. Ugh, can you believe it?.."

"Ohmygosh, we have Kingdom History together!! Finally, we have a class together..."

"Uhmmmm...where are we going?!"

Making his way over to a nearby bench, Frozlar dug around in his backpack and pulled out his schedule.

Looking up at a nearby clock, it read 7:42 AM. Unfortunately for Frozlar, he didn't have a map in his backpack. Oh dear.

The blonde boy chuckled and grabbed Tae's hand firmly, giving a solid shake,

"Heh, sure."

Lysanna stood up and practically jumped up and down from where she stood,

"Tae I put down ten gold on you, I swear if you lose-"

Kindra covered Lysanna's hand with her hand and the students burst out laughing. Benet turned back around to face Tae and the blonde boy,

"Ready...sketch!"

Tae focused on the rune and her eyes nearly flew out of her head. That was probably the most complex rune she'd ever seen. Nonetheless, she chiseled away, hearing the boy beside her tracing his rune with a paintbrush. The cheers, shouts, and occasional scream from Lysanna fueled Tae and empowered her to draw. She continued glancing up from her work and took the chance to glance at the boy's work. He was barely behind her. Tae pushed herself to chisel away at the tile before her and not a moment later after she finished her sketch, the blonde boy laughed as he finished,

"What?!? Jeez, alright then, nice job."

Lysanna practically bear-hugged Tae as she walked back to the student circle,

"That's what I'm TALKING about!! I should bet on you more often!"

Benet casually smiled and picked out a couple of students for the next round, including Lysanna,

"Impressive, but watch a master at work. Take a seat please, Tae."

Hilda sighed and sat down on the grass, pressing a hand to her forehead,

"My brothers said I'm 'special' or whatever. Anyways, yeah, I'm kinda...tired..but I think I'll manage. Let's go, Silva."

Slowly picking herself back up, Silva led Hilda down the dirt road through the forest. It was calmly quiet after the boar confrontation. [-1 MP]

"I see, I see. That's good to hear! Could you possibly divulge a little bit more into what you've been doing with your grandfather? I'm sure it must be interesting."
