[rp] Small Beginnings - [9/9] Players - Applications Closed

Holy shit writing an app is hard when your little sister is watching television right next to you :/

Why I should accept you into the RP:
Honestly this question is a pretty hard question to answer but I will try to answer to the best of my abilities.
Well I am in a few other RP's so I have some experience. Also roleplaying is my hobby and something I also do IRL. (Next year I am gonna go to a roleplaying school which I am super excited for :D)
Also I think my character is cool, and I think we are gonna have a fun time with him ;)
I don't really know what else to write.

Name:
Somnum Exterreri (This means nightmare in Latin)

Age:
He is very old. He looks early-mid twenties though.
He is one of the first corrupted beings.

Appearance:
A tall, handsome and strangely beautiful man. He has dark hair and weird dark purple eyes. His skin is a little more pale than normal but it is not a lot. Enough to be noticed but not so much it looks unatural.
Well that was the first of his appearances. That's right he has two different forms. He has his human form and his NIGHTMARE form.
In this form he is taller. His teeth gets sharp with a pair of especially long and sharp front teeth. His hair raises up and becomes spiky. His nails grow longer and pointier and becomes more like claws. His eyes change into a deep blood red. His skin becomes dark. There is a little, weird, dark smoke around him. His voice also changes. It becomes deeper and more monster'ish.

Personality:
Somnum is a corrupted that hates everyone, corrupted and not corrupted. He is a very satanic person who likes to torture, hurt and terrify people. He does this both physically and mentally. Often he is nice to people just to betray them later. Also one little thing. Somnum likes to play with people's minds, feelings and even sanity.
When he speaks to people it often seems like he has some hidden agenda. He can be quite passive-aggresive at times.

Backstory:
Born of corruption itself, Somnum was one of the first corrupted beings. He was powerful, everyone around him could feel it. He had a problem though for a being like him being born with a human body was terrible. Everyone despised him. They thought that he looked weird and different. At this point in time he didn't know his abilities. The other corrupted didn't think of him as a monster, but they felt the power within him. This gave them conflicting feelings and they isolated him from everyone else.
Somnum in his solitude grew hateful of the others. He hated them. He just wanted to get out of the god. damn. Nether! There was no escape though. (All of this was before the portal opened) He lived alone and honed his sword-fighting skills. He became pretty good.
Because of his loneliness, he did not realise that the other monsters had gone into hibernation.

He lived alone like that for a long time, until one night something changed. The miners came. They dug into the cavesystem the corrupted lived in. Somnum observed as miners that looked like him poured into their world. How they found the emeralds. He didn't really care that they stole things from his people. After all, he hated his people. They are not his people anymore! It was first then that he realised that the corrupted weren't there. He wondered where they were, but then suddenly he saw them come charging at the miners. They slaughtered them all.
The corrupted discovered the portal and planned an attack on this new different world. In the meantime Somnum caught wind of this and saw it as his chance to escape. The portal was guarded on both sides though. Somnum had to sneak out when the invasion struck. So he waited.

Then when the invasion was ready all of the corrupted charged through the portal. This was Somnum's chance to leave this damned place. He charged unnoticed through the portal with some later parts of the corrupted army.
For what seemed like an eternity it felt like his body was being pulled apart. Then suddenly there was a blinding light. It was nothing like what he was used to. Then when his eyes had adjusted he saw the other world. It was strangely bright and nothing like what he was used to. (The battle was happening at the end of the stairs that lead up from the portal). Somnum thought that he could just sneak right past the two armies that were clashing. He was wrong though. A group of four human soldiers saw him coming from the corrupted side of the battlefield and confronted him.

They attacked him and suddenly he felt something strange. It came along with the growing hatred for the humans. It was this new sensation in his body. It felt like he was born anew. The soldiers must have seen the change too because they looked terrified.
"I just wanted to leave! To get away from the others. But of course you came in the way." he said. He didn't even recognise his own voice.
"That was a poor choice!" he told them as he lunged onto the first soldier and bit him in the neck. He easily disposed of the others and ran away.

Being out of the Nether he felt this weird feeling. It felt like his belly was going to implode. He didn't know what it was, but he quickly learned from the humans that it was "hunger" and that you had to eat things to sate it. He tried eating a potato. He spat it out instantly though. Eating human food didn't seem to help. He experimented with some different things including eating people but settled on draining their life essence.

Then he's been traveling from city to city and becoming quite infamous though noone know who or what he is or looks like. He has become a horror story. if people believe it to be true or fake though. That is up to them >:)

Class:
Well I don't really know. Nightmare I guess.
Dun'no' what class dual sword wielding is but I guess he is a nightmare-(whatever the dual-wielding class is.)

Primary Weapon:
His two twin-blades. Pavor and Tremor. They are one-handed short swords made of a dark'ish grey steel. At will or when he transforms into his nightmare form the swords color change into an obsidian-like black color. They can also flare up with illusionary dark flames. The flames don't give out any light.
When not wielded these blades are sheathed crossed on his back.

Secondary Weapon:
His natural weapons. He can use his claws and fangs to attack people.

Spells:
No spells.

Abilities:
Change form:
He changes between his human and NIGHTMARE form. Hen can also change individual body parts.

NIGHTMARE:
This is a very versatile ability. It is mainly used to make people afraid, but can be used to make certain illusions like darkening a room and stuff like that. It can also reveal the fears of a target person to Somnum.
When used to scare people it triggers a state of fear in them. It can be fear of a specific thing or just fear in general. This ability has 3 tiers. 1, 2 and .....5 (Dont question. Just roll with it.) A tier one NIGHTMARE is like a not so frightening horror movie. It makes you uneasy and uncomfortable, but you don't have to hide under your blanket. It just makes you a little scared. A tier 2 (If we use the horror movie example again) makes you want to hide under your blanket. A tier 5 though. A tier 5 is: YOU ARE SENT SCREAMING OUT OF THE ROOM THIS INSTANT! >:) (It makes you really fucking terrified :)
Willstrong people who are good at overcoming fears will be able to somewhat resist NIGHTMARE.
Also, people under the influence of this ability will have debuts to everything they do including combat.

Essence Drain/Bloodrush:
To stay alive outside of the Nether Somnum has to drain the life essence of living creatures. When a target is drained they become all pale and de'd :P. They also look a little like a raisin. He does this by biting or sticking his claws in people. He can do this in combat, but since it takes some time and he has to keep his claws/teeth in people he will most likely only drain a little. This will weaken the target and make Somnum a bit stronger because of the bloodrush part of this ability.
When he has drained someone he will trigger bloodrush (It is just a name. He doesn't actually suck blood). The more life essence he drains, the bigger the bloodrush. Bloodrush will for up to an hour (also depending on how much life essence drained) give him a boost of energy which makes him stronger and faster.
A full drain on one person boosts him for like 200%.

Armor:
He wears light steel armor on his legs and body. It has a dark'ish grey color.
Just like his swords he can at will make it an obsidian-like dark color. This automaticly happens when going into nightmare form. He can light up the armor with dark illusionary flames that doesnt give out any light.

I don't really care ;) Let us just say Nemract. :P

Possibly XD but mine hates everyone including (especially) the corrupted so kind of he is a worse corrupted :P

 

If our character fight a day it will be the strangest fight ever, you will say awful things to me, and I will joke of these. ._.

"I've got a job for ya," the merchant says. "King's in need of some runners - messengers, y'know..." The merchant trails off, and looks to his right. "Market Guards," he whispers.
"Market Guards?" You say.
He nods emphatically, while hurriedly taking down the sign that said adventurers wanted (it now reads 'Looking for a Messenger!').
"What's the problem?" You ask.
The merchant looks around, to make sure no one's in earshot.
"I'm a spy. Fer the King. King 'o Ragni. If the citizens knew that our army was short..." The merchant trails off again, then leans over and whispers in your ear, "Pretend."
He then picks up a mask and announces, "Seventy Emeralds for this one. An original from the Iboju Village, made by an apprentice Shaman. (@3DSMate this has nothing to do with your character)."
"Uh.." you say, but the merchant glares at you. "Fif-fifty emeralds. I-It can't be worth.. that much."
The merchant looks cross. "Sixty. No less."
"Fifty-five."
"Fifty-seven."
"Deal," you say.
The merchant looks around again. The market guards have moved on.
"So. The job. Be a runner. Messenger, for the King 'o Ragni. Good pay. Easy job. Most of the time, we can't see Nemract's signal beacons any more, so that's why we need you."
"..Deal. I'm in. Sign me up," you announce.
The merchant nods, and hands you a scroll of parchment, and opens it. He points to a blank line, and says "Sign your name here."
A: Ya still want to do this job? Sign Up.
B: Walk away
C: Free choice

 

A. HELL YEA I WANNA DO IT. I sign my name on the thingy.

The merchant rolls up the parchment, and ties it with a delicate cord.
"Go to Ragni, through the passage - Tell the guards there that you're visiting your Aunt Mabel, and that you'll be in Ragni for awhile - and tell them that you're too young to get involved in politics. They should let you right through. Guess the pigman ravines'll be your first test - it's crawling with pigmen. If you can get through that, you're fit enough to do any messenging job. Once you're in Ragni, hurry to the King, request an audience - Call 'im King Charles Roion III, an' tell him that I sent you - Torian."
You nod, and set off for Ragni.

You reach the passage.

 

Ah well, just count me out then. Good luck.

 

I tell the Guards the stuff Torian said to tell them (too lazy to rewrite it).
